Why does it have to be Pirlo or Aquilani? If we are to play 4-3-3, a midfield with Melo, Pirlo, and Aquilani (or a better replacement) would be great. Even if we play 4-2-2, we will have 3 competitions (assuming we will at least reach EL) and we need quality backup.
