I think that most fans are looking more at who is currently in charge, and if it comes down to pick between this corporate and out of it’s depth current administration and on the other hand Agnelli with his obvious flaws but also undeniable passion towards the club it’s clear that most would rather give another chance to the latter given that our most recent successful cycle was still under his tenure.

It’s clear that he won’t be able to run things by himself and will need to have competent managers and scouts around him, but too much is being thrown at him for how it ended last time without taking into account the pandemic which bankrupted us at the worst of times(CR7 gamble) and the whole SuperLeague fiasco that he attempted specifically to boost our finances and status which ultimately led to our downfall, mainly due to FIGC bending over to UEFA and negative backlash pushed by systematic propaganda, this without absolving him from his fair share of mistakes throughout all of this.

Anyway, point is that the hate he is getting from some is unreal, you don’t need to be a fan of his or throater to acknowledge that some things that are being said about his cycle here are based just on recency bias and personal hate agendas of some, ignoring all facts and circumstances such as the ones i mentioned in my previous post where i tried to explain some of the other unfortunate events that got us in this situation and not just by pointing the finger at one individual or the other in a vacuum, during a long tenure it’s obvious that there will be both good and bad that can be said about it, however in his case when it comes to achievements and club growth he had his priorities right and marked an very important period in our history.

Anyway, i rest my case, tried to be balanced about it and point out some of the good and not just the bad, along with adding some context to his last few years in charge, in which he made plenty of mistakes but where we were also crippled financially by one of the most unpredictable pandemic crisis and then hit by a major injustice from UEFA/FIGC for stepping out of line, which again was prompted from trying to find solutions to cover for those loses while still keeping us at the top and not accepting the status of forever being unable to compete financially against the Premier League and other oil clubs, and everything from what i mentioned here to the factual achievements and winning cycle under his tenure suggests that he is far from being just an passionate amateur without any administrative knowledge or long term vision as some want to depict him as, maybe him being too much of a risk taker in some aspects while simultaneously too conservative on others is a more valid argument against.

No, because he already was. He was the one that brought in Conte, Marotta, Allegri, etc. Pinning succes on the guys he brought in is pinning it on him. Simple as that. That's what a good president does.

It was as history has proven so many times. Wanting too much combined with feeling untouchable at some point cost him in the end together with the circumstances Alin mentioned. And he wasn't alone in that. Beppe, Paratici, Nedved and co. failed too. Just like they built the good run before.
