Lippi: "It hapenned that we loose against weaker oponents because we would underestimate them. The following day in training, as per usual, Gianni would appear. He would come by the training center, greet the caretakers, the people who looked after the stadium grass and lockerrooms. He would just wave at me from afar, politely smile and he would then go back to his vila. I would immediately grabb my phone and write to him "Boss, i got the message." He greeted all the people who made an honest living doing their job for relatively small money while we were earning millions and had no right to disrespect the Juventus jersy in such manner by underestimating someone and not give our maximum on the pitch."
Gianni would do the same this very morining if he was still alive. Lets hope Andrea would do the same.
No hyperbole, I haven't felt this way about Juve since...never. When Ranieri was here I had more energy and hope than now. Which sounds ridiculous comparing names in the squad, salaries, transfers etc. From coaching choices, recruitment, treatment of club legends, players attitude and effort, interviews of club officials, fans on social media, etc... Idk if winning the CL would give me a jolt rn...
The club has strayed so far off the path that saved us from the abyss. From going home and spending time with families of potential signings to giving enormous wages to anyone who asks, bringing people in who gave you (and continue to give you) the finger and chasing out those who gave you their everything.
Being a fan, to me, is about emotion, memories and hope. Idc about results or aesthetics on the pitch without those things. Other than Gigi and Chiellini, maybe a few more - there is no one in this team I look at and have some significant memories, moments, something I'll remember in 10 years or even hope they will give me that. I'd give up both of my nuts to have just someone like Tevez back, let alone the whole team as we used to have. Not an ounce of character and charisma anymore.
