The hybrid inverted wingback role that Cambiasso interpreted so well today brings a whole new dimension to our game and is something that Kostic can sadly not replicate in the same setup, at this point changing between them means completely changing the designated runs and certain players positioning, then again no doubt however that Kostic also has important qualities and if used accordingly will continue to be more of a guarantee through his track record of accumulating 10+ assists on average per season but i don’t know if the other facets of our game will look as good with him there instead of a Cambiaso or even Iling Jr. style of player…

The rumors about Kostic being on the market do make complete sense now, it could be a risky bet given the small sample size but one surely worth considering, especially given that we still don’t have any reliable target man to make the most of his repetitive crosses while also him seemingly not blending all that well on the same side with Chiesa either.
What I like in kostic is his character and he will work hard to get better , and having that competition on the spot will benifit both of them, is great to have both of them.

"Cambiaso is very intelligent and when you have a player like Chiesa who can roam around in all areas, Andrea knows when it is the moment to cover the space or find the gap."

Allegri is not the most popular person around here, but I'd be thrilled if I was a young player who got this compliment from him after the first match for the new team.

Agreed. I also think he feels relieved because straight line merchant Kostic playing there wouldn’t be able to work with Chiesa playing where he is so far.

As with the Atalanta friendly, he took up a number of intelligent central positions in the build up, that gave Chiesa space out wide and Rabbit and/or Miretti to get closer to Vlahovic.

It was an interesting concept yesterday but I wouldn’t suddenly sacrifice Kostic.

Allegri explained that Cambiaso and Iling allow for better combinations and better position with Chiesa. Kostic runs in a line, so he said he would have played him if instead of Chiesa we had Vlahovic and Milik on the field. It makes sense.

Kostic, Milik and Vlahovic together sends flashbacks of last season's style of football.

this totally makes sense and also makes us not that predictable. I wonder how big of an impact this Magnanelli guy had on all of this. Its really unusual to hear Chiesa praise an assistant coach tbf.
I wonder what about that right side though? Do we have few game plans for it too? Putting McKennie there guarantees exactly what? Better cover?

Pretty sure all putting McKennie there does is get Weah some rest.

Best 'signing' of the season. What I really love about him yesterday was how well he was measured, composed and unfazed. More than any of our other youngsters.
The combination for the goal between Chiesa, Cambiaso and Raiot was beautiful. It shows a lot of quality and understanding.

Im just wondering whether Kostic is for sale. It was Cambia's and Illini Junior and not him. Kostic was the most used player last season so it's strange.
Allegri said he doesnt fit playing alongside his best player. Combine that with his age and where Juve is at right now, I dont see how Kostic is not on the market. He's still a good player, just doesn't fit anymore. Iling can backup Cambiaso, so he's not even needed for depth really. He's just a luxury they cant afford.
