    so let me summarize:

    he is a left back:

in the video you do not see him once tackle
you do not see him cross
you see him mostly playing in central positions where he just shoots on goal and some flukey keeper jumps under the ball or something.

did you ever look up the desciption of a "left back" ?

if he really is a left back he needs to learn to do the things expected from a left back and not play through the centre (obviously leaving his side totally exposed to counter attacks).

i am not impressed at all (by that video)
Look "vi12zas783js" this video was uploaded by a user who is maybe impressed by his amazing attacking talent; It's not my fault that he didn't add some defensive actions. Btw, you should've realized from the video that he doesn't pee, too :shifty:

If the guy is on the Brazilian national team and starting I am sure he can cross. Just because its not on a small highlight video doesn't mean we all should assume he can't cross. It is not hard to see he is a good player when you watch him, and I doubt Brazil would start him if he A.) Can't cross, B.) Can't defend, C.) Can't attack well and D.) Can't manage all 3 together in a solid performance and do it consistently.

yeah if he sucked they could just try playing Alves out of position on the left or something.

But he is obviously a good player

Exactly. It is irritating when people complain because everything they want to see in a small highlight video isn't shown so they deduce that he isn't good enough or shot the member down for showing it without realizing the guy already worked his way up through a plethora of great players in his own country to start for Brazil.

We should pass on D'Agostino (for this season), Ledesma and Diarra. Instead, we should get Santos and a good RB, and we're set to go.

since you seem to have a hard time dealing with digits i do you a favor and highlight some words by writing them with capital letters. i hope it helps you to understand...

oh yeah, blame the guy on youtube for it. YOU said you THOUGHT he was an AMAZING TALENT (as left back) from THIS youtube VIDEO. So obviously you're criteria to judge a full back have nothing to do with defending otherwise you would have said "he looks great while attacking, but i don't know if he can defend". it is ok if that is YOUR DEFINITION of a full back.

    this is what YOU wrote
He seems an amazing talent from that YouTube video. I hope Secco gets him.
following your logic we could go for this french TAIWO guy that has fancy videos of him shooting the shit out of french goalkeepers.

i think we need a full back that sticks to his position and does not make the central of attack even more crowded (with del piero, amauri, diego and giovinco we already have players that don't really like to play on the wings).

i think knowing how to defend and delivering crosses is more important than a player that likes to play through the middle and will more likely shoot than supply our aerial beast (amauri) with proper assist.

This guy isn't half the player Dani Alves or Maicon is. Hell, Dani Alves is a right back and came in with 20 minutes left to do 200 times more for Brazil than Andre Santos.

yeah but Santos played better in the games leading up to the USA..

I dont see why Brazil dont play both Alves and Maicon though cuz they are prob the 2 best fullbacks in the world so i doubt it is a big deal to stick on one the left.

If Grygera can be played on the left Dani ALves defn can

There isn't a lot of decent competition for the left back place in the Brazil squad. Thats part of the reason why he is their starter.
That's not true imo. They have many quality left backs, but for some reason Dunga doesn't call them up.

Aurelio, Maxwell, Marcelo and Filipe as your first 4 choices, not many NT's can top that.

i already got one, thank you

sorry to answer your intelligent postings in a way that your intellect can't comprehend so you resort to writing "get a life" to someone who obviously got more real life than you.

you do not even know how to differentiate between a full back and a wing back so what do YOU want to tell me ?

you probably go to the partner school/college of andy ... there are quite some similarities in your well educated posts. perhaps you should resort to name calling or insulting now to show how well your parents raised you ....
