If you're a holding mid, you're passed the ball more than anyone on the pitch and if you don't score well in those stats you're basically just making up the numbers. -We will let Morata go because real with get stingy....but a hidden reason is that we also want moratas money to soften the blow of buying Gomes. Its harsh but it will be this way.
-We also will buy Berardi as a dybala variant and because we must buy him anyways.
-The rest of the money will go to find opportunites to patch the rest of the positions.

Sadly even replacing Khedira with Sturaro seems to have an similar effect but I think Sturaro is someone who is eager to learn and tries his best to improve.

Sturaro is still very young. If he can become atleast a decent passer he'll be a fantastic bench option. Lets not forget his awesome games vs Real last season and City or Bayern this season

I'm a Marchisio critic from way back. This forum has debated his efficacy for half a decade. I don't doubt that he has a great football brain, and that that counts for a lot more than people are willing or able to acknowledge. He brings a lot of calm and stability to the midfield especially as a regista. He's smart enough to lose his marker (and since that lost tie against Munich some years ago, where Pirlo was marked out of the game, Juve's holding mid is always paid close attention) and get onto the ball as much as possible. That in itself is integral to a functioning midfield. Not to mention that he works hard and covers the defense which refreshingly contrasted Pirlo's approach.

But we can't over rate him either. His first season under Conte was the best in his career. He was actually the protagonist in a lot of games, scoring several great goals. It was the only really consistently excellent season he's played in my memory. Since then, as a holding mid, he's waxed and waned between quietly brilliant and typically mediocre performances - no massive blunders, but no notable attempts to take the game on either. Most people would characterize him and a 7-8/10 in everything, but he excels in very little. He's not particularly creative and he doesn't try to be. He works hard to cover the defense but he's not physically very dominant either. Once in a blue moon he'll do something that gets you off your seat in applause. But it doesn't happen very often.

I like Lemina a lot and I've got high hopes for him because he's not afraid to do those things that Marchisio won't. He'll break forward and make things happen by taking risks, dribbling past his markers or trying a difficult pass. He's also more physically imposing than Marchisio. He can bully players off the ball as well as anyone in our midfield. So, if he can start to move more intelligently and get on the ball as much as Marchisio, I think he'll challenge to start one day. That's the only thing he trails Marchisio in (as well as experience), but he trails him by a lot.

Making key passes is a minimal requirement for a holding mid, but they really should make some contribution in goals and assists throughout the season as well. Pirlo made tons of assists and Lemina, with very limited playing time managed to find the net a few times. He took the responsibility to push forward and make the difference and I reckon if he stays fit all next season he's going to grow into a real player.

No one will quote you on it because you litterally just mentionned the only near certainties of our mercato. Wildly reported we will lose Morata due to the buyback clause and we have little say in the matter. We will buy Berardi because he have stake in him and want the added depth. Gomes is litterally our main priority focus of this mercato so far so us getting him is far from unexpected even if it will be difficult.

Wasn't trying to hurt you just disagree strongly about this. I see Lemina as a potential starter for us as well but not as a DM he just doesn't have the passing range, the positional awareness or the tactical discipline to play there at least yet. Marchisio on the other hand is elite in all those things I just mentioned and his defensive game is among the best in the world in his position. If he comes back strong and is his usual self after that injury DM is in lockdown for at least four more years.

Except for two parts, firstly Lemina isnt more likely to score then Marchisio as a holding Mid. Because the 2 goals he has with us were both scored when he played box to box vs Napoli and vs whoever that was I forgot. Khedira role, basically freedom to go forward. Secondly Lemina's future isnt in holding mid, waste for him, he does decent/good job there. But this guy needs to express himself fully as all around CM to the sides. Both win balls and have the freedom to run with it or occasional nifty spreading of possession. Static role is not his ideal even if he has the defensive capability for it. He has too immense of physical qualities as a player to restrict his movement to that role. I want him to have the role he had vs Napoli, because RCM that can go around bully opposition everywhere and hard to pin down.

Also, people here is counting on black jeez and Cavani and a lot of other names, inlcuding Pjanic. So, whai i mentioned is hadly a "certainty" because we dont know what will happen with morata, and gomes being expensive as hell, would practically nullify any black jeezus or Cavani buy.
