According to Gazzetta, Juventus have reached an agreement with Andre Gomes & they are now discussing the deal with Valencia.

The typical "agreement with player, now lets discuss with team".......2 hours later "Lol, he was too expensive"

We really need to sell first. All those long injuries are over and when Lemina, Pereyra and Asamoah can overcome preseason they'll be back. With Sturaro & Hernanes also out there that's just too much... It's not as if Marchisio won't recuperate... He'll be fully fit around October and will barely miss a thing.

That's 5 backups even without counting Padoin...

Marchisio shouldn't be expected back before January. Actually for me, any contribution from him next year will be a bonus.

6 months is not a realistic recovery time for an ACL injury. 10 months is best case scenario if you go by other major sports. Rossi and Strootman tried to come back before 10 months, closer to 6 and failed spectacularly.

As a physiotherapist I can say 6 months is perfectly doable if all goes well. Rossi is not an example to go by. As is Strootman... For example Insigne was back in 5 months. Nowadays some even rehabilitate in 4, though that's not the standard as well.

Insigne is an outlier, surely.

He was also much younger than Marchisio by like 8 years.

There are freaks of nature in North American sports who could barely dream to return in 6 months. I think Adrian Peterson did it in 10 and it was shocking to most people.

Of course, the doping restrictions for soccer players are basically non-existant, especially after surgeries (I personally know a player in one of the top 8 leagues who was doping after a pretty minor surgery and returned in half the time).
