Congrats to the Broncos.

Utterly disappointing game by the Pats on so many levels offensively. @King of Kings, as you mentioned, if the Broncos stood a chance, it was thru their play on defense and Pats shooting themselves in the foot. Both of those things happened today, hence why Denver won.

As shit as Pats O and Tommy were today, they still would have won the game if they had taken at least one, and especially both, of those FG on 4th and 1 and 4th and 6. Taking one of those would have meant winning the game with a TD late (no 2pt conversion needed). Taking both FGs, would have meant winning with a FG. That's on Belichick there - he took risks he normally wouldn't have and ended up outsmarting himself. Taking such risks would have been justified vs Peyton of 5-10 years ago, but not vs the current version, where you just have to trust your D to give you the ball back.

This being said, Tommy and O stunk it up today. The playcalling was abysmal to say the least too. They never went no-huddle, which is usually their bread and butter vs stifling Ds like this, failing to keep the D guessing and on their heels. On a pretty consistent basis, they would dial up some pretty bad, low-percentage play-calls, leaving them in 3rd and long situations, which is killer vs a D-front like the Broncos, facing a pretty much non-existent OL-ine by the Pats.
Also, they never changed the span-count/cadance, not once in this game. Broncos had a rusher beat a OT/OG to the snap on virtually every play, getting a free rush on Brady and rarely allowing him to even get his eyes up the field.

On top of everything else, the best kicker in the game ends up missing his only PAT in I don't know how many seasons, which forced them to go for 2 pts in the end.

All in all, a lot of things had to go wrong for the Pats today for the Broncos to win and it all came down crushing, all at once - Brady and O stunk it up, BB and McDaniels sucked in key situations too, and then to top it off, Stevie G missed a PAT. :sergio:

Now, all that is left is to see the NFC stomp Manning's stupid face in the SB again :D

Go Patriots! Quest for #5 is not over, just delayed by a year

Pats need to rebuild that OL and they MUST develop a more than respectable running game.

Brady will die on the field next year if opposing defenses get to pin their ears back 70 times a game.

Legit running game is what they need for them to have a chance next year.

Why can't the 49ers get wide outs like Ted Ginn

The amount of drops Ted Ginn makes is pretty stunning though. :D
Hence the reason the 49ers let him go back in 2012...
