Who will take Kaps salary though? I think we should part ways with him. I could be wrong but isn't short passing accuracy huge with chips system?
Thing to remember about Kaep's salary is that at this point in the contract, it's basically a series of 1 year deals (team holds an option after each season).

So his new team could test him out for 12M or so for a year, maybe two, and if things don't work out they can cut him without being committed for big QB bucks.

Teams will pay for a QB1

Think about all the teams that need a solid starter like the Jets, Bills, Rams, Houston, Cleveland, Philly, Washington
Do they really?
Jets have Fitzpatrick, a solid starter. Bills have Taylor, he even made it to the Pro Bowl. Eagles aren't so bad with Bradford. Washington got Cousins and they even got to the playoffs. Even some people say the Rams trust their QB (I don't remember his name). I'll give you Houston and Cleveland, they do need one.

Slowest crop of WRs in the 11 years the combine has been keeping records of 40 times.
And Treadwell is so slow he refused to run. :D
Treadwelll is drawing Alshon Jeffery comparisons.

Yeah, this is true.

that too is somewhat a telling record but I was mostly referring to the quality of the Wr crop as a whole.
just not much to get excited about, tbh - a poor WR crop in a rather poor draft class overall.

Defensive side of the ball looks half decent...

But offensively, terrible draft. Weak QBs, weak WRs, weak TEs, weak OL, decent RB.

DL and LB positions do look pretty decent - not much top-tier talent but offers depth in the good-to-very-good range.

Outside of that, for all other positions it seems there is like 4-6 guys, who'd do alright in the NFL, and after them it's utter meh ...

The top half of the 1st round will be players, who deserve to be 1st round picks but after that teams will be drafting mostly because they'd have to make that pick one way or the other. Teams in the bottom half of the 1st round will likely be looking to trade back but unlikely there will be many offers unless some team is looking to get back in the 1st to draft a young QB with that 5th year option.
The "meat" of this class is in the 2-3 round range, imo, but that's mostly for DL and LB because for other positions e.g. WR, RB, OL talent would have already dried-up by then.

Kind of reminds me of last year's draft class only even less talented once you get outside the top 15 or so picks.

All in all, a good year to have been robbed of your 1st round pick ...

You mean rightfully stripped of your 1st round pick... It's okay, I shall overlook that little slip-up. :D

What do you think of the DBs? Hargreaves got a lot of plaudits going into Bowl season, but then got absolutely abused by Michigan receiver Jehu Chesson, which was bizarre to see. May have had one eye on pro-football...

Ramsey looks pretty good too, and if Kendall Fuller recovers form after his MCL sprain, he could become a great NFL CB.

A couple mid-later round sleepers too, Russell out of ND, Murray out of Minnesota, and then Rashard Robinson out of LSU if he can get his life sorted out.

Sounds about right. Would also add Alexander (Clemson), Burns (Miami) and Jones (Bama) as names to watch. I think Alexander is already one of the better prospects this year; Burns has a really high floor but lacks experience at the position (and some personal issues too) but, if given the time and opportunity to grow, he could become really good; Cyrus Jones is a baller, imo - not the best athlete, so probably won't test well, but he has the character to play in the NFL.

Arian Foster, Charles Johnson, Roddy White, Marques Colston, Mario Williams, Brandon LaFell all released.

lol:
Gonna miss foster, he was a gamer but his body has fallen apart over the last couple of season.

Guess we are going rb qb wr in the first three rounds.

Ezekial Elliott is meant to be the tits.
Him or bust for me. Unfortunately there is no talented speed in this draft at wr and we could use a downfield threat .

And none of the qbs available at 22 will be worth a first rounder.

I could see us trading into the second if elliott is off the board. Unless we sign a miller or forte.

It will be interesting. I expect if Goff is there we will take him at 7 but I'm not sure about it. If there isn't much difference in the QB's I'd prefer getting a jack or an O line man or something with thst first pick and getting a Connor cook or someone in the second.

I think that will be a lot of teams plan

Reports out of Niners front office is that Kap is dumber than a bag of sand. Knowing that makes it impossible to fit into Kelly's offense because it's all about pre-snap reads and making the right adjustments. I hope the guy lands on a team where he can find some success.

R.I.P. to the former Volunteers great
