omg such a great level of chokeness... does the laces had anything to do with it?
no, at least not in this case. laces straight towards the kicker would affect more how far the ball goes, not so much precision/direction. this was a 27-yard chip-shot of a FG, so distance was never the problem.

In general, laces towards (or away) from the kicker allows for more evenly distributed, symmetric compression during the kick, resulting in better precision of the kick (left or right). Laces facing the kicker would make for a bit shorter of a kick, while laces away from kicker, a longer one.
Laces to either side would affect the direction/precision of the kick, which wasn't the culprit here.

Blair Walsh just shat the bed here, plain and simple.

So, just to be clear - Kam Chancellor didn't believe Walsh was gonna score the chip-shot of a FG because Seahawks have "tons of committed guys" and "God is full of grace."

That's a good theory. My theory is this: Walsh knew acmilan predictions about the playoff games had been shockingly bad. I mean, predicting a victory for both Texans and Bengals... Who does that? So to make sure acmilan would at least get one of his predictions right, he decided to miss the field-goal. Just to save poor, little acmilan from self-destructing. He knew acmilan couldn't take 3/3 wrong predictions. Walsh is actually a nice guy when you think about it.

C*NT :D

Funny thing is, the above has about as much merit to it as Chancellor's version :p

redskins lost several starters, iirc, in their secondary late-ish in the regular season. that secondary wasn't great to begin with but the losses in starting personnel made any play-off run highly unlikely.
If the 'Skins were gonna keep up with the Packers, it was always gonna be with offense, not D, and the O just fell short on the big scene.

TO you as well. Hope 2016 is a good one for you.
Of course it will be good - #5 is on its way :D

@Post Ironic

Would you like to be even more impressed by what the Patriots have done since 2009 season? Take a looksee:

Hint: Common sense requires that no team should occupy the top, right corner of either of those charts ;)

@B3N Look at the 2nd chart above and you will appreciate a lot more what the 'Skins did this year. :)

Not much else is available, boobs. Maybe Pats OC McDaniels but he's a wild-card option too - some people are meant to be OCs and not HCs annd I think he may be just the type.
This being said, Giants is seen as a very solid franchise, which makes it an attractive job. I think you guys could get a top college coach (Shaw maybe even Meyer) if you want to. The question is, do you want to?

Yeah. PED use has always caused players to be susceptible to ligament and tendon injuries. I can see why the Pats are up near the top in that regard. Explains why the replacements are always so good too, until they go to another team where they can't use PEDs. :D
