the only way oklahoma has a chance is if florida is off rhythm like alabama was against utah. but for the most part i'm pretty sure that OU will be blown out of the water by florida's speed and power on both sides of the ball

Well, I'll take 2 BCS bowls in 3 years, and a bowl win in a season when you replace 9 of 11 starters on defense, of which the starting Corner was last season's number 3 Slot Receiver.

Ohh, and a possible ROY in the NFL.

You show me anyone who has that happen, plus a coaching change, and doesn't fall off just a bit.

nebraska, OU and texas can be excluded from this list being that before the big12 OU and nebraska ran rampant in the big8 conference which was a joke and texas owned the southwest conference where their only rival was a&m. easy program wins before the formation of the big12 conference.

the same can be said about the big10 but not to account for a such high percentage of wins

oh ya and USC? c'mon, have they really had perennial contenders coming out of the pac10 every year for decades?

But you don't bold PSU or ND?

They ran, and ND still does, independent schedules with shitty opponents. ND lost to fuckin' Navy.

It doesn't get any weaker than that.

In reality though, the strength of various teams and conferences change similarly to the football leagues in Europe. SEC and Pac-10 have the better records in the BCS, but that doesn't mean it will last forever.

i did mention the big10 schools prior to the formation of the big10

but those schools played each other almost every year and there was still more healthy competition there compared to the pac10, big8 and southwest conference

Ohh, I agree, USC is all that the Pac will have for the seeable future. SEC will always be tough because of their location and prestige.

But what you say is true.

There are always ups and downs.

But PSU was the last to enter the 10, I'm not so sure they played a lot of those teams.

Although I know they did in Michigan and OSU, to my knowledge.

no one is saying that it will last forever but as of now just because USC comes out of the pac10 as the conference's only BCS rep, it doesn't mean its a dominant conference by any means. its just the college football blow-hards who feel that the pac10 is a legit conference somehow better than the WAC or the MT-WEST

i see no difference in those conferences for the past 3-4 years

Pac-10 is La Liga, Big 12 is the EPL, SEC is Serie A.

While we weren't in any conference, we still played decent teams throughout the season. ND, when they aren't weak, set up games with teams such as USC or OSU early in the season. So I'm not sure if it's that big of deal.

    FEDEX BCS CHAMPIONSHIP GAME
    Miami, FL - Jan. 8, 2009 @ 8 p.m. ET
    FOX

    http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/bowls08/bowls?game=bcs

I'm going with the Gayyyytors tonight. Tebow is not only a man, he is THE MAN. There is no other player in college football who is more impactful and vital to their team. Florida is faster, stronger, bigger, tougher, smarter and flat out better than OU.

Bob Stoops with OU is 2-4 in BCS bowl games consisting of 1 National Championship. I liked the Sooners in November/December but this is January 2009 and I doubt that they pick up in on the same rhythm they left 2008 on.

    List your picks boys:

    dru >> Florida +13

    Florida by 20.

Oklahomos have been bragging and shit and apparently they are already selling their fans "Nat. Champions" gear. Which is not different AFTER the game, but is a bit different 8 hours before the game.

So I think that might motivate the FLA boys JUST a bit.

i forgot to mention that SLO-U has key injuries on both offense and defense which IMO signs them up for an automatic ass-whooping
