Inter Milan's Diego Milito has been installed as the favourite to top next season's scoring charts by Italian bookies.

The Argentina forward has been given odds of 6/1 ahead of Udinese's Antonio Di Natale - top scorer last season - and Luca Toni of Genoa, both priced at 8/1.

Milito's Inter team-mate Samuel Eto'o and Alberto Gilardino of Fiorentina come next at 10/1 with AC Milan's Pato alongside AS Roma veteran Francesco Totti at 12/1.

Juventus's Brazilian born Italy forward Amauri, set to make his debut against Ivory Coast in London on Tuesday, is down at 20/1 while Sampdoria's Antonio Cassano, also expected to start on Tuesday, is out at a massive 66/1.

Why would u trade a proven striker in the serie a who just had 1 bad season for a kid who did well in ligue 1 but failed in la liga, and expect him to succeed in serie a where lord knows teams play more defensively?
Are you serious? I would do it in a heartbeat.

Wow, just wow. I can't even count the number of wrong facts you have got in there.

Benzema

2004–2009 Lyon 112 apps (43 goals)

2009- Real Madrid 27 apps (8 goals)

Amauri

2003–2006 Chievo 89 apps (17 goals)
2006–2008 Palermo 52 apps (23 goals)
2008–Juventus 62 apps (17 goals)

Yeah I'll take amauri plus he knows how to play as the lone striker , not so sure bout benzema.

What the heck are you talking about? Benzema scored more goals in the last 5 years than Amauri scored in the last 10. Not only that, but he has proven himself a number of times in CL. Benzema is a beast of a player, I honestly can't believe someone would even compare him to Amauri, let alone prefer the latter.

Why would u trade a proven striker in the serie a who just had 1 bad season for a kid who did well in ligue 1 but failed in la liga, and expect him to succeed in serie a where lord knows teams play more defensively?
Amauri is not a proven striker, not in Serie A and not anywhere else. Scoring 13 goals in a season for Palermo does not make you proven.

Amauri had 2 bad seasons, not 1.

Did well in Ligue 1? Tore it up and CL as well.

Failed in La Liga? Yeah, having C. Ronaldo and Higuain who play in world class form, as competition is a piece of cake.

Add that up and you get:

Benzema 139 apps 51 goals

Amauri 203 apps 57 goals

Thats only 6 more than a very young attacker who despite also having a bad last season still averaged a goal every 3.5 games.

Also if you're going to do this fairly you have to count from when Amauri started his senior career like youve done with Benzema, so from 2004 till he signed for Chievo Amauri had 35 apps and only 6 goals.

You do realise that shows Benzema has a better scoring record?

Benzema
139 apps 51 goals.

Amauri
203 apps 57 goals.

Oh lets not kid ourselves.

Benzema is much better player than Amauri and three times better than Iaquinta. But lets come back to reality - he's not coming. And Amauri will do fine this season, there is really no need to sell the guy.
