Mostly agreed... but I look at it like this:
I'd rather take a risk on Gilardino, and keep Giovinco, Marchisio and De Ceglie, and have more leftover money to go after Aquilani/Montolivo/Xabi Alonso/some other top CM, than have a lesser risk in Amauri, diminished young depth, and the need to fill the holes that one of Giovinco, Marchisio or De Ceglie might fill.
Gilardino is not built for Milan's system, but he has a lot in common with Trezeguet... who fits Juve's system like a glove. Everyone thought Sissoko and Iaquinta would suck, but they didn't... I think Gila could be another like that.
If this offer (leave Amauri to AC to buy Gila for 5-8m) is on the table, I take it. Amauri is good, he's not that good for Juve to drop trousers and get bent over the table over.
