Look I never said say Huntelaar will flop for sure, but there is a risk as with any player. Kezman also used to score alot of goals, just like Huntelaar. Kezman joins Chelsea, and he sucked...badly.

Now. people say that having Serie A experience is overrated? well let's look at 4 players that joined us this summer. Sali, Grygera, Tiago, and Criscito. all those have struggled to make an impact here. Sali, and Tiago have showed improvment, but it is a slow one.Not every player is like that. some players adapt immediately while others take up months or even 1-2 seasons to adapt.

yeah sure, Almiron has struggled as well. But Almiron showed in pre-season what he can do, he is just out of form, and him not playing regularly is not helping at all.

but here is another perspective. Let's say Huntelaar does not flop, but rather adapts slowly. Say he takes a season to adapt, not scoring many goals, while Trez continues his current great form. what will happen here? Look at how fickle the fans here are. Many people here want Criscito, Molinaro, Almiron, Tiago, Grygera, Nocerino out because the consider them unimpressive. and only half the season has passed. So seeing this, will anything be different with Huntelaar?





oh really? I thought you can never be 100% sure? and it's ironic you say that he would play great football but not whine. he would likely have to share a rotational position with Trez, and if he plays great football, then you can pretty much assume he would whine if he doesn't play alot. Any footballer playing well wants to play as much matches as possilbe. if you are playing well, would accept only playing half the matches that you could play in? I think not

Grygera is injury prone so has had no chance to show us what the fuck he is about. Almiron did well in pre season, the time when players are trying to not get injured. We should give him time but he hasn't been the bets player out there. He struggled against Empoli, and really, Nocerino has taken his place in the team. I want him to have his chance though. Criscito was always a risky buy because to only experience he has had was in Serie B. The style is the same, but at a higher class I think that is where he has struggled.

Just ignore the fickleness, or write a paragraph and c&p that to all them each time it happens. They ain't going to change the fucking minds of Ranieri or our board. Drogba wasn't a hit when he first went to Chelsea, then he changed and went up a few levels and scored for fun. The experience of Trezeguet could also be valuable to Huntelaar as they are a similar type of player.

If Huntelaar takes 2 seasons to develop, he will be 27, the same age as Amauri. If Amauri is an instant success then it will be exactly the same as taking the risk with Klaas, which I would rather do. If we run scared from everything, we wouldn't have had all the success we have had so far in our history. If Huntelaar scores 10+ goals in his first season for us if he joins, he will be an instant success for me, considering that we have goals coming in from all the rest of our strikers. Huntelaar has time to impress, Amauri doesn't really. We signed Trez from Monaco at 23 years old, there could have been similar discussions back then between Juventus fans about whether we should get the young buy or an older version. We got a player who has become the top scoring non Italian in Juventus' history. Not bad for a risk.

Same for every player in that really. He needs to earn a place (which is unlikely if Claudio hate him) or we need to have another system. 4-3-1-2 or something.

Palermo vow to hold onto star Brazilian pair

ROME (AFP) — Palermo have issued a hands off warning to Europe's top clubs over star Brazilian pair Amauri and Simplicio.

Amauri is believed to be at the centre of a transfer tug-of-war between Juventus and AC Milan while Simplicio is reportedly wanted by both Italian giants as well as Serie A champions Inter Milan and Spain's Valencia.

Some websites have reported that Palermo are willing to sell, but club president Maurizio Zamparini dismissed that.

"None of it is true, I don't know who's spreading these rumours," he said.

Even if Palermo do manage to hang onto the pair during this transfer window, they will surely depart for pastures new in the close season, according to Italian news agency ANSA.

Striker Amauri has impressed with seven league goals this season while midfielder Simplicio has been at the hub of Palermo's play all season.

Amauri, for one, has already spoken of his desire to move on to a higher level.

"I would like to play with players such as (Alessandro) Del Piero and (David) Trezeguet (of Juve), but also with Kaka (of Milan) it would be incredible," he said.

"Juve are Juve, Milan are world champions, Kaka is the Ballon d'Or winner. It would be an honour. It depends on who comes first..."

Palermo are rumoured to be looking at another Brazilian as a possible replacement in Tulio De Melo, a striker earning rave reviews in France with Le Mans and who is joint second in the scoring charts with 10 league goals thusfar this term.

They are also believed to be interested in Lazio's out of favour midfielder Mourad Meghni, with both players thought to be possible summer transfer targets.

Meghni, like many French players of north African origin, was once talked about as the new Zinedine Zidane but his career has failed to take off in the Italian capital.

Milan Could Sign Amauri – Zamparini

Maurizio Zamparini has denied reports that said he would refuse to sell Palermo star man Amauri to AC Milan.


The fiery Rosanero President had been quoted as saying: "Milan don't have to call me, as [Vice President] Adriano Galliani is the last person I would sell Amauri to.


“If a club is interested in a Palermo player they have to ask officially and with correctness, just like Juventus did when Moggi was there, and also how the present Juventus does.”



However Zamparini has now denied ever uttering such words.



“It is not true that I have vetoed an Amauri transfer to Milan,” he stated.



“That is also because I haven’t received an offer from them – or Juventus for that matter.

“I only know that a few foreign sides are interested in him, but nothing will happen until the summer at the very least.”



Zamparini moved on to say that he would do everything in his power to keep the Brazilian at the Stadio Barbera, however he pointed out that any increase in wages would not be extortionate as some newspapers have suggested.



“I will do all that I can to keep Amauri here, but it is false to say that we will soon double his wages,” the businessman concluded.

Amauri is alot like Drogba but i am not sure he would work well with Trez. Plus we already have Iaquinta. I would not be sad if we did sign him though as he is a sick player.

I like the thinking of Ze Tahir on the Pandev idea though. Lazio need players and we have a few we don't need. Maby Boumsong + Marchionni would be enough to tempt Lazio or even throw in Almiron or Olivera or someone.

Barzagli is a good CB but not as valuable as palermo think he is. I think Boumsong and 4 or 5 million Euro would be fair but we would probably have to pay alot of cash
