Guys, i was thinking (for a change ) and i realized this :

We're buying Amauri for 12m eur (i'm counting only the money payed)
Lets say we buy Alonso for 18m. It's rumoured that we're selling Tiago, Almiron and Marchionni (+the 1.7m we got for Blasi) in order to finance these 18m.
We're most probably buying a LB. The one rumoured to join us is Grosso who won't cost more than 6m (Lyon payed 7m last year, if i'm not wrong).
If we buy a LB we're probably selling Criscito. We're asking for 5.6m eur while Genoa offer 3m eur. Probably we'll find the mutually acceptable price at 4m

So :
Amauri 12m+ Alonso 18m+Grosso 6m = 36m
Tiago+Almiron+Marchionni+Blasi = 18M + Criscito 4m = 22m eur

The difference is 14m eur.


So basically, we're spending only 14m euro on this mercato.
If we sell Palladino or Iaquinta then it will mean that we're spending only 5m euro.

So, are we cheap, we don't have money, or are we going to sign few more players (or a superstar CB) ?

We can get Fernando Meira for less than what we could of paid last year if we got him. He's no WC player but that's what I'm hearing. Carvalho will follow Mourinho most probably and the other good/decent CB's who could leave are Lugano and Marquez. Maybe Zapata could be available but he'll be tougher to get. It all depends on Andrade.

How could they arange a meeting to sign him, without have firstly persuaded Lanzafame to go to Palermo?

Its possible Amauri signs a contract with us, with Lanzafame rejecting the Palermo deal right now. Meaning that Amauri will be ours and the payment details (in this case, which player to trade) will be sorted out later. If I remember correctly, this is more or less what we did with the Almiron deal last season.

But the main thing is, nothing suggests the Lanzafame rejecting them is anything more then typical media hot air. Todays article is even a recycled one from weeks ago. The West Ham link is a very weak one.
