So Higgy has more goals in the CL this season than Morata and we played in a much tougher group (no Qarabag to beat on and Atletico compared to barca LOL).

Both of Higgy's goals were absolutely crucial, providing us a needed win at home to Olympiakos and an equally crucial draw away to Sporting when nobody else looked like stepping up

Agreed that Higuain has had a nice impact on the CL campaign. My gripe is with people who say he’s way better than Morata. On what basis? On top of scoring nearly identical amount of goals, Morata has a higher percentage of total goals for the team.

Messi had a good game against us in 2015 CL final. But he's been utter shit in finals for Argentina.

Those misses that everyone complains about Higuain having in the finals for Argentina... none of them were chances created by Messi. Against Germany it was assisted by a German defenders bad header that left him 1v1 with the keeper, and against Chile in 2015 it was a massive backpass error by a Chilean defender that put Higgy 1v1.

For being the so-called unstoppable player, Messi has been anything but in international finals. He hasn't scored and he hasn't created chances. He's been poor. Simple as that. Doesn't mean he's not one of the best players of all time, but let's not make out that he's been good when he hasn't been.

Higuaín was a goal scoring machine at Real Madrid. Morata will probably never reach those levels. He's not a great scorer.

Benzema was preferred over him for tactical reasons. It was easier for Benzema(who isn't a natural scorer) to play second fiddle to Cristiano than Higuain.

Morata can't touch him in terms of goalscoring. He has 10 goals in the prem with already more than half of the season complete. Just admit it, he's not a prolific scorer(probably never will be) but he's a more well rounded player , much more than Higuaín I suppose.

15 last season in 14 starts and only 1330 minutes, 10 this season and on pace for 20 at the end of the season. people remember his Juve seasons but ignore factors like:

-he missed half the preseason in 2014/15, where he was joining a top club in a different league, yet he still had immediate impact when he played.
-he played a lot of SS/RW/LW (even in games he was listed as CF) to create space for Dybala and Tevez upfront
-he had a bad slump of form for 3-4 months where he didnt score a single goal, due to personal issues (according to him and Gigi)
-he simply didnt play that much (~2800 minutes in the league in 2 seasons for us, which is not even a full season combined, as 38 games is ~3400 minutes), but scored 15 goals and had 12 assists in that timespan

also, league goals wasnt even an issue for us, so signing Higuain makes even less sense in that case, especially when his international pedigree was awful (8 goals in 48 CL games for Madrid is awful. his Napoli record in Europe is better, but majority of his games were EL and they went out vs the likes of Villarreal and Dnipro, with Higuain disappearing ofcourse).

given the choice, id definitely pick Morata, because if you exclude finishing, Morata is the better player overall

Higuain for Real, Napoli, Juventus in Serie A and Primera - goal every 116,56 minutes
Morata for Real, Chelsea, Juventus in Serie A, EPL and PD - goal every 129,86 minutes

for Higgys supposed superiorism in league games and his otherworldy finishing, Morata is holding his own pretty well i think

i just proven to everyone why Higuain isnt as clear cut ahead as you all thought in terms of goalscoring (and that with Higgy having a legendary year while Morata scored 7 goals that same yearin Serie A), you gotta come up with something better than that. + ill take Morata in almost everything else other than finishing over Higgy.

I'd say it would've been the correct decision in the summers 2013-2015, 2 mercato's ago it becomes debatable if you know what happens next
