The last time I felt this upset over losing a young forward with unique skills and untapped potential was when we lost Ibra, and look at how that turned out.

I am NOT saying that Morata is on an Ibra level.

I just have this feeling that this is going to be heartbreaking, even if we really had no control over it. Just like the Ibra sale

I think our lack of control in the situation kind of adds to the closure, if that's any consolation. The upside here, is I can only assume that the management have learnt their lesson. No more deals like this. It's a devastating loss, but more worrying is, finding an able replacement, even though we won't find a player of this calibre at that kind of money.

So are we going to assume now that Dybala/Mandzukic/the new arrival isnt going to step up in his place ?
We don't know that. Out forwards are excellent at what they do, but Morata brought us something else. I'm not even sure who we should replace him with.

We have more creativity than last year plus Alex Sandro will be a guaranteed starter. Alves-Sandro wingback combination with Pjanic to add the creativity. It does compensate his loss by quite a bit. This excluding whoever arrives as his replacement.

I said it's a blow, not that it's over. We're gonna have a hard time replacing his quality, plus like last season, I don't like the lack of continuity in the team
Yea, a lot of people are missing this point. Continuity is the key ingredient for back to back strong European runs. Morata and Cuadrados losses are huge, and if Pogba goes, Allegri is essentially starting his work from scratch as far as the midfield goes. Never the way to chase down an elusive title after telling the fans that is our priority.

Morata's loss doesn't bring us to creativity problems. It's his clutchness we'll dearly miss.

I agree with the continuity part but we also have to take into context Morata IS NOT a starter in this team. Not like we're losing one of our first team players. But it could a huge blow to our depth options, sure.

You think we wont create more goalscoring opportunities than last year ? More chances for Mandzukic and Dybala to capitalize on ?
