He needs to develop natural striker instincts to get in positions, move in channels for channels and just go for shots selfishly. He is involved in build up but rarely ever in final phases of attack. Dybala is there as SS, he doesnt need to focus so much on making things move in build up
I think he's shown when in form that those natural instincts are what makes him such a promising striker. He often moves very intelligently. Last season he was a real "right place right time" kind of striker especially in those final few CL games and his flair and technique are a great compliment to that. He's in a nasty patch of form right now though. He declined steadily throughout the match against Verona. It's a real dilemma - he needs the confidence strikers get from playing and scoring because he's worth investing that time into, but football clubs ought to be meritocracies and so, Zaza really deserves Morata's spot in the pecking order.

I don't really agree. Yeah he showed in needed moments of CL big nights, but he hasn't seemed like an instinctive striker who scored weekly exactly because his game seems to be well rounded enough he forget the key killer instinct habit you need to have to sniff out these changes regularly. We needed it less last season due to Tevez, but even then I didn't think he was type to consistently score versus smaller teams in the league. Rarely impressed scoring wise vs settled defences in small venues like that.

It's unfortunate so far but I'm not suprised he hasn't scored alot so far because of previous mentionned reasons , even if it's a surprising it's this bad because the mental obstacle of bad form.

The one and most important instinct he lacks is finishing. He's been like that since he was at Real. Otherwise I think he's shown how complete and classy a player he's on his way to becoming. The goals will come with confidence, but he looks completely devoid of confidence at the moment.

When it doesn't work, it doesn't work. He isn't playing badly just won't go in for him. I'm sure once he gets a goal he will be back to his best.

No, because that miss, had another perfect run and positionning in it, just very unlucky

It takes time, but he'll come around
:agree:

Thought he had a good game, he also got in the position to score which is good. Its just not happening for him but he needs to start taking the chances because it can be costly. At 3-0 the game would have been over.

Its stupied to keep playing him in this form, he needs to be hungry and have something resembeling instinct infront of goal! Zaza deserves his spot right now
