He still managed to throw himself onto the ground multiple times and cause multiple counter attacks. The full gambit of Morata was on display today.

There's a worthwhile striker in there somewhere, get him a therapist or a personal motivator
some regular hugs would be enough. he just needs to be loved, the little snowflake he is.

surprisingly good display today, especially compared to the utterly hopeless shitshow of his latest games. his career in a nutshell. too bad he's expensive, i'd love to keep him as an impact sub and as the ideal counter attacking striker.

To think that there were people prefering Kean over Morata.
Kean can't hold the ball up and link up with other players so he is better playing on the wing rather than play as the sole forward. Morata is miles ahead of him as a centre forward except for the goal scoring inconsistency.

Transformed the game. Came in super motivated despite being told he won't be allowed to leave to Barca. Hopefully this tells management that we can say no to players leaving if it's not on the clubs terms and time table.

Yeah, they both suck, but Morata is useful from time to time. Kean is utterly useless.
He is not useless, in fact the opposite.

His situation is the microcosm of this season. Forcing players into roles they're not comfortable in, then blaming them for not being prime Drogba or Robert Pires.

Not every player is Tevez or Mario or Chiesa and versatile enough to play anything you ask of them.

A young poacher with undeveloped body and technical skills isn't great fighting off 3 grown men, alone, with his back to the goal. Shocking.

99% of his goals in his entire career came from 6 yards out and he suddenly needs to do a job fucking Drogba would struggle with. Shocking.

A consistent French international who played his entire life in one position is not great as a second coming of Pires. No shit.

A day ago Morata was the worst thing since satan, now we have hopes for him, for the thousandth time in his career.

It is not a coincidence Kean scores when he has chances, not a coincidence Morata looks great off the bench and in space on counters. That is playing to their strengths. Morata struggled past few games holding up the ball alone too.

What we ask of players who are not top players is not realistic.

Kean can score 10 goals from now on and it still won't make him a top player.

Rabiot can start playing like he does for France and it still won't make him worth the wage he earns.

Morata can play like this for a while, still won't make him any more consistent than he already is.

They're not horrible players, they can be useful, which doesn't mean we don't need upgrades on them, but the also have to be put in positions to succeed.
