I think we would have got him only if we offered something around 40M (+30M Madrid would save from his buyback clause), in a total of around 70M. I think Madrid refused 60M offers from EPL, specially Arsenal (where he would fit like a glove).

And of course if that happened, no Higuain for us.

They look more of a balanced attacking side this season, so I suppose it's natural than Zidane is looking to give someone with one of their best ratios a chance. I always rated Morata as a really good sub option though. You can't ask for more than someone who is fast, direct and technical when defenders are getting dug in and a little tired.
