Marotta: "Morata's future doesn't solely depend on Juve despite our desire for him to remain, but the outcome of the conversations with Real"

Marotta:"We'll do all we can to fulfil Morata's wishes to stay in Turin, where he feels he is at a club that is perfect for his career"

Yes. It's pretty much all up to Real at this point.

Preferred over Torres and Diego Costa by Del Bosque

And he made a great choice there.

Torres defenitely, but even if a complete cunt Costa is more effective and deadly then Morata. Tho his short career with the NT so far has been underwhelming, and DB doesn't like him on a professional level.

Thats precisely why he dropped Costa.Guy's garbage for Spain.

Hope Morata's future is sorted before the Euros and hopefully we are at the receiving end of a positive outcome

I would always have picked Torres given the form he's in and the track record he has for the national team (still scoring and important even if he sucks).

But I think Del Bosque's point is that he wants to move forward and give a new generation a chance.

Also, Morata is simply a lot better than Diego Costa. The latter is more effective, but Morata can carry an attack on his own. Depending on tactics that skill might be more useful than a pure finisher, which they already have in Aduriz anyway.

Defenitely don't agree Morata is alot better, considering latter has scored plenty of goals for years and Morata barely gets double digits a season in his short career. Diego Costa is very strong, quick and has similar skillset to Morata (not as good dribbling perhaps), but more importantly is a proven goalscorer that carries an attack. Not in NT but club level. Same Morata who is completely benched by Mandzukic who is defenitely the more limited player to Costa (was not able to properly replace Costa in Atletico) can't seriously be seen as alot better then Costa in overall.

In club level mainly, because I get why Costa lost his spot in NT. Tho he should still be called up.

This endeless roller left and right left and right from spain make any striker too strugle. They score even less goals than italy.

Alvaro is gonna be a huge start in UCL and we wanna dominated that competition. How come any have doubts about his potential?

Costa wasnt that great this season either. he scored 16 goals 11 assists in about 1000 minutes more played compared to Morata, who had 11 goals 13 assists in all competitions (TM numbers). Costa only had 2 really good years in his career, the last one with Atletico and the 1st one with Chelsea. other than that he was never a world beater either. i can see the logic behind such move with Del Bosque wanting to build a new Spain team with these young players for the WC in 2 years, so he will slowly start to drop these older guys

Has he? He scored 27 league goals in 2013-14 and 20 in 2014-15. In other seasons he (barely) scores around 10 league goals. If you go back 5 years when Costa was Morata's age, their statistics are simply the same.

I'm not talking about talent, but he has been decisive for Atletico for two years as soon as he became the main guy. And first season with Chelsea was clutch.

Until Morata shows the kind of consistency that leads to 20 league goals, then we should stop holding him up as some superior quality to consistent strikers.

But I just showed you that Costa isn't consistent. He had two good seasons, that was it.

This is a tournament though.A knockout tournament at that.Morata has a proven record in knockout competitions.
In this regard, difference between him and Costa becomes very minute.
