missing pre season training is a huge deal. i think he will folp unfourtunately due not having time to adjust with squad.

The extra 12mil we gave to get him over Immobile (we got 8mil for his half, instead of giving that ammount and get the player back) already seem a bit too much...

another Llorente?
no, all joking aside i think missing preseason is a huge roblem for him, as he won't get to integrate with the squad.

add to that both tevez and llorente will unlikely drop form, and marotta's cheapest signing likely to be his best of the season yet again (Coman) and morata's place is a serious question mark

That is some twisted mathematical logic since Morata cost us less. Whether we should have invested in Immobile instead of Morata will be determined by the performances of Immobile and Morata respectively. Using the word "already" indicates that Morata's value has gone down since we bought him, despite not playing a single game.

Writing him off in August :touched:
I dont want to write him off, vut young players need consistency and confidence byilding practice in order to gel. Now he has to contend with being a fringe players until he proves he deserves to be ahead of coman and giovinco on the bench.

Unless he has ronaldo level confidence, this is going to be a tough season for him

Yeah in the beginning he'll struggle I have no doubt about that

But people are talking as if he's done. Worst case scenario he struggles this season due to lack of prep. So he's in his early 20s and has plenty more seasons ahead of him

Realistically he was only going to be a sub anyway for now.

The problem is that people aren't inclined to take that attitude.

You won't have to look far to find someone labelling him a flop (and I mean in the wider world - not just on here) is he hasn't impressed by Xmas.

It's amazing how little time it takes people to write off a young player who has been bought to develop and play over many years.

but instead of who will he play?

by the time he is fit, CL will be well underway and i doubt allegri will want to risk his campaing to accomadate him when both lloretne and tevevz wil be tearing it up, and coman looks like he will be revealation.

unless he has a freakish pogba style break in, or a lot of our forwards get injured, he's going to struggle big time. i just hope we give him another season to impress

Tevez and Llorente were healthy pretty much the whole season last year and still Gio/Quags/Osvaldo/Mirko combined for 47 appearances. There will be time for him.

This was with a strict 2 striker formation at all times. Allegri at least seems open to a 3 attacker system where Morata could possibly drift wide in some matches or play beside Llorente with Tevez behind at times as well.

the only good thing is if we do give him another season to impress, if he flos this season, then madrid can't use the buy back clause
