If you have no idea what kind of player he is, how can you say it's a fine deal?
And when you say it's a fine deal, it means you're pretty much 'defending' Marotta. During the season you also gave your best to defend him even if that meant attacking Conte.
But then the argument could be seen with the Iturbe deal. We are obviously overpaying but, it has been mentioned on this forum numerous times that we are not in a position to be buying established players, so we have to spend more when it comes to deals like this hoping we find a wc player.
- one 'good' 'season'
- last year of his contract
- coming as a bench for Llorente
- we need to improve starting XI, which he's not
- buy back is included, so we're developing a player for Real
- this is a financial rape
Yeah, paying 20mln really makes sense. For Morata and Mandzukic went for 18mln. Great.
Im not worried about the price. We're paying for potential and its understandable but this whole buyback thingy is what's pissing me off which is why im not liking this deal much. When you're accepting a buyback and you're overpaying on top of it ,it definitely makes a bad deal for me.
This deal would've been good in two ways. For eg : we get him on loan + option to buy for a cheap price and accept a buyback OR We overpay for him like we did here and have no buyback option.But..we're clearly losing on both fronts here.

I'm not blaming him for being benched at Real. I'm blaming us for paying that much.
