Morata is a potentially a real good striker, thats not the issue, the issue is he 1 year left on his contract and he is costing 20m after being fringe player for the entire season, effective fringe player, but one non the less.

We thought Evra was going to be free too, but then MU extended his contract by another year (forgot the term of that contract). @DelPiero84

I'm pretty sure that's the case with Morata too.

there kinda has to be something. a clause to extend the contract, morata (or us) not willing to burn bridges... something like that.

he featured in 4 league games real didn´t win:
bilbao: morata played 3min
villareal: 17min
celta vigo: 90min, in this game real played almost a full team of reserves because of the cl final
valladolid: 81min, after ronaldo inury

apart from that:
levante: 21min, made it 2:2 in the 90th minute, ronaldo won the game in injury time
espanyol: 22min, made it 2:0 and 3:1 shortly after

horrible!
:lol2: riiiight, way to twist stats and say only the parts that helps support your agenda.

1- That espanyol game was the last game of the season. Totally irrelevant.
2- The other 3 goals he scored where against Rayo Vallecano (5-0), Real Sociedad (4-0), Almeria (4-0), wow what an impact he had there.
3- Those games he was subbed in and they didn't win (OR DRAW) were the ones he was supposed to have an impact on, and he failed to do sh!t.

Evra had a clause that made his extension automatic in May, for all we know, Morata does not have that at all (its more common with shorter contracts in older players prolly). His contract goes out next summer, but rest assured if they dont sell him this summer to their liking (either bigger sum or buy back option with) then they will renew his contract, the kid will easily accept it IMO. Its his huge home town club he loves, not like a Llorente sitaution where he wasted 1 year of his career because he so badly wanted to leave Bilbao for us.

And the fact that the 20m price tag is accompanied by a fucking buy-back clause! The fucking set on Madrid, can't believe it!

Defenitely the kid not wanting to burn bridges, he made his choice of us to them, but cant force his way out or ruin his relationship with them by being a disgruntled player that wants to force an exit to make him cheaper for the buyers. Its just unrealistic to expect that for sure. And its respectable thing to do too, and not just because its bad for his career to go against his home club.

They have the cards though, thats why they are making this stand with him, they arent desperate to sell him outside their set conditions.

completely irrelevant. look at your original post.
you were talking about games he wasn´t able to turn around and there were exactly 4 (or maybe 5) of that kind, in one of them he played 3min and one real just threw away the game because they didn´t care.
in your post you made it sound like he failed every other weekend to help to turn a game around...
btw: i agree that the last game of the season wasn´t exactly highly relevant ;).

He's a promising striker. I remember people being mad because we bought 'established' Amauri instead of Cavani who fired up at Napoli and we ended up paying Amauri's contract for being useless. Just none remembers that Cavani cost Napoli 17m back then. NONE.

Right now we're going after a younger player that could eventually fire up but there's complaining he's not worth the interest. Do you honesty think he'd have benched Benzema? His role was obvious to everyone yet he gets bashed for being a sub for Benzema at Madrid.

I don't get the whole 1 year contract left thing as it's unclear why he'd want to extend it since he wants to leave so bad and come here. Maybe Madrid has some kind of clause to extend it automatically or something. It's obvious we're not getting him for free next summer. We're paying for potential just like with Iturbe. Finding players that suits Conte's needs is more costly than just buying occasional yougsters it's everywhere like this. If a coach wants a player it's not because of his price but his characteristics.

you guess wrong, everyone here can read and is interested in football news

it would be retarded to think no one knew what cavani cost napoli
That wasn't the point but fine. Exaggeration to show how people change their minds. When we sign a proven player and he fails there's calling for youth. We're signing young guys with lots of potential now and people complain.

It's ok when other teams spend big money on unproven players and they grow to become WC players. When it comes to Juve I guess they should be sold for half prices because it's Juventus.

I think there's something up with Morata's contract. Maybe Madrid is able to renew Morata's contract automatically like MU did with Evra?

I can't see Marotta pay up 15-20M for a player on the last year of his contract when he wouldn't budge from 7M when bidding for Llorente on his last year, and at that time we did not have a quality striker.
