So which bank is the next to fail? Bloomberg thinks AIG will survive, but it doesn't look good. Is WAMU the next one to go down? I'm so glad I'm not in any real stocks at this point - might as well just wait until we are in better times, which hopefully will arrive soon.

PS - Welcome back guys. :)

My buddy went long in 500 barrels of oil last Tuesday when I told him not to go long, but go short. He didn't listen when I showed him the technical indicators and now he's going to get a D for that assignment. :(

Bought at 105, current price 95. Ouch.

Well, my buddy bought the oil contracts because he thought Ike would push the price up. But the price didn't go up as the technicals didn't look good and we have this Lehman bankruptcy on our hands. I think oil will go down to about 90 and stabilize there.

Fed will cut once again in the near future, probably sending the dollar down again.

I remember Altair said gold was still in play a month or so ago, but I think he was a little too early. Although the indicators still say it's bearish.

Just got a 45 minute lecture on steel futures from Tuncer. I can't recall how he got off on that particular tangent, but the blank stares of my classmates were priceless.

People aren't familiar with future contracts in that class?
