I saw an "expert" last week who said Gold, at these levels of various pricing, should be around 3000. I always take what I see on TV with a grain of salt, but what does make sense is with a global recession and falling prices of the US Dollar with rate cuts, Gold becomes a safe outlet to keep your money. If the US economy collapses, Gold will still have some value.

Basic gist from an analyst on CNBC World:

"With the US printing off more and more bills, people will start to hedge against the currency risk. We may test the 750 price level in the next months, but after that I suspect the price will eventually reach the 1300 level once the whole crisis is over."

    Meh, whatever that means.

Kinda makes sense I guess :D. So it will eventually be up is what I concluded.
Many of the people I see on CNBC are dead wrong. A few months ago we had a wave of "optimists" on various shows proclaiming to the world, "the bottom in the market is here." Way to be wrong, assholes. I mean, these guys were blatantly saying in the aftermath of the Bear Sterns debacle that the market would rebound over the summer. People were denying a possible recession. How the hell do they come up with propaganda such as this?

I try to go with my instincts with these times. Everything I hear I second guess, every chart I see I examine with a grain of salt. I have no idea what I'm doing, but at least I'm not blindly following some fools. Altair was right in saying technical analysis is the only way to trade.

Opening calls in the European markets are ferociously negative. Already 4% down just at this point in the pre-market.

Interesting to see what happens with our opening.

    Unchartered territory here.

Fantastic move in crude. I'm short oil with the DUG (ultrashort oil) and the price of the commodity is about 90 right now with the Europe open. This was predicted in the technicals and we can go lower than this.

So I'm up 85% on ultrashort oil. Should I follow Jim Cramer's advice and take some off just because it's up past 20%, or should I follow the technicals?

Pff, that's an easy question. I heart technical analysis.
