I don't get the JoJo hype in all honesty. Good player, got skill, but nowhere near what he's made out to be. At least hasn't proven it yet, either due to injury or form. I think Sanchez would do just as well, considering he'd cost about 10m less and is about a couple of years older but that could be co sidered negligible coz he too is still under 25-26 years of age.
What is he made out to be other than a player with huge potential?

So are we any closer to getting him after the meeting? Any rumors or reports? Transfermarkt already gives us 28% chance of getting him but I don't think it's accurate in any way.

@Lo-Pan :agree: With the exception of Rooney being mentioned along those two. I understand you are somewhat biased, but Rooney is not on the same level :D
I'm not sure if I would agree or contest my suggested bias there, @Bianconero81 ...I have been watching Rooney since he first burst onto the scene at everton as a 16 yera old. His talent has always been extraordinary. Even though I am english/sicilian and have spent most my life in England, watching english football, I don;t have abias towards english players, but I do value spirit and grit more than perhaps a la liga fan, for whilst the premier league has become horridly flimsy since the mass invasion of foreigners and huge increase in commercial exposure, back in my day grit and tenacity, an english version of grinta, was as important as raw talent and polished technique. Rooney has all three, hence the reverence he inspires in me.

I often get the impression that fans from overseas who have seen barely a handful of Rooney performances, rather than seen him play every weekend throughout season after season, buy into a certain reputation created by foreign pundits and foreign fans, which is infused and shaped with an anti-english sentiment. I am not suggesting that of you, mr B. But often...I read of kids mocking Rooney, when they don't seem to have any idea of who he is, other than what they have read on this very forum. This problem is thankfully not focussed on rooney alone.

In your case, I assume that the grit and determination aren't such a strong measure of greatness and in a more objective manner, and understand how you could say, with such a stance, that Ronaldo and Messi are indeed in a realm all on their own. With Rooney closer to secondary group of Ibra, Tevez, Van Persie.

regardless, after Messi, even alongside Messi, I would have Rooney. Bias or perhaps just slightly different ideas of Greatness. Which is an interesting topic for me to discuss with comparably knowledgable fans like yourself...

A lesson to every up and coming players like Sanchez.. don't sign for Barcelona, its just not a good fit.
They can join Barca, but only if they believe themselves to be compatible with Messi.

No point in going if you are going to be shunted out of position.
