I'd argue, but losing Fabregas is the last nail in the coffin which would make your statement absolutely true. Unless we keep Nasri and make at the very least two big signings, we really are going to be left behind. I am hoping Tottenham are forced to sell Modric, imo that would give us a big chance to qualify for CL next season even if we don't adequately replace Cesc.
Also, i don't blame Nasri for wanting to leave. Not at all, until Wenger and the board stop fucking around and show some freaking ambition, there is absolutely no reason for quality players such as Fabregas and Nasri to stick around. It's not like they're local boys or lifelong fans of the club or anything.

I think the board are a bunch of old cheapskates who care more about making money than winning trophies. You know an Arsenal season ticket is more expensive than a United one. Why should an Arsenal fan pay more than a fan that has won 3 leagues in the past four years and has made the CL final twice in the same period. Obviously they love it that Wenger is ok with working with a tight budget and that he gets to advances stages in the CL while doing so.

How many times in the past 15 years we've heard the argument that Arsenal are going backward yet everytime they sell one of their top players they replace him with another cheaper but quality player and they still make it to the CL every year and got to the knock-out stage every single year !
I see nothing wrong with Arsenal's policy, actually i think its a smart one. After all there will always be just one club that will win the League title in England (most likely the club that will spend more or United) and only one club that will win the CL in Europe.
IMO wenger's work is nothing short of phenomenal for them (even if he hadn't won much lately) but sooner or later they "will" win a title, Its just a matter of time. And if they did thats an Extra bonus for the club.

I only remember Tottenham being linked to him and Arsenal signed him on a free right? Either way dude was pretty pedestrian last season. Ya i'm sure thats why he wants to go there. Not the fact that they're willing to pay him 180k a week. 
Like i said, i don't begrudge him moving on, even to City. We obviously aren't showing any ambition to win things. But please don't give me the "i don't care about money" line.
It's a good policy if you look at it from the boards point of view. It's ideal actually. Why the fuck do they have to care about winning titles when they're making so much money? Not such a good policy for us fans though. We're fed up. Don't tell me we can't win titles. We are always in the running for the title until at least March, but then in the last two months thats when we lose it. Because we have absolutely zero depth and we have poor defenders. If Wenger actually spent some money on getting good defenders and good cover for the first team, it was perfectly possible that we could have won a title in the past few years.
Adebayor wanted to be paid 170k a week. He definitely didn't deserve that because of one good season. Plus we were changing to a 4-3-3, Adebayor would not have fit in that formation and he was too expensive to keep on the bench. Selling him was one of the few transfer market decisions that i agree with Wenger on.
