I'd argue, but losing Fabregas is the last nail in the coffin which would make your statement absolutely true. Unless we keep Nasri and make at the very least two big signings, we really are going to be left behind. I am hoping Tottenham are forced to sell Modric, imo that would give us a big chance to qualify for CL next season even if we don't adequately replace Cesc.

Also, i don't blame Nasri for wanting to leave. Not at all, until Wenger and the board stop fucking around and show some freaking ambition, there is absolutely no reason for quality players such as Fabregas and Nasri to stick around. It's not like they're local boys or lifelong fans of the club or anything.

Yeah I was talking of when Fabregas leaves and if Nasri went also, the team goes from looking very good to quite average.

If Cesc left, then even if Nasri stayed we'd still be an average team. Regardless of last season's performance, Cesc remains our most influential and most important player. Nasri does not compare to him at all.

i think the board have more ambition than wenger, only they are too scared to show their authority in fear wenger might leave. btw did you read wenger's open letter to the fans?

I think the board are a bunch of old cheapskates who care more about making money than winning trophies. You know an Arsenal season ticket is more expensive than a United one. Why should an Arsenal fan pay more than a fan that has won 3 leagues in the past four years and has made the CL final twice in the same period. Obviously they love it that Wenger is ok with working with a tight budget and that he gets to advances stages in the CL while doing so.

I read an article about the letter, but not the letter itself. Why?

I am interested to see if Kroenke will have any changing effect on how things are done in Arsenal. If he doesn't, then it will probably mean that the whole problem was Wenger and Wenger alone in all of this.

How many times in the past 15 years we've heard the argument that Arsenal are going backward yet everytime they sell one of their top players they replace him with another cheaper but quality player and they still make it to the CL every year and got to the knock-out stage every single year !

I see nothing wrong with Arsenal's policy, actually i think its a smart one. After all there will always be just one club that will win the League title in England (most likely the club that will spend more or United) and only one club that will win the CL in Europe.

IMO wenger's work is nothing short of phenomenal for them (even if he hadn't won much lately) but sooner or later they "will" win a title, Its just a matter of time. And if they did thats an Extra bonus for the club.

That's because Chamakh was always an overrated player. I would definitely choose Adebayor, even though I can't stand him.
I only remember Tottenham being linked to him and Arsenal signed him on a free right? Either way dude was pretty pedestrian last season. I was friends with a Moroccan family and they always swore he was like the second coming of Christ. He had some good seasons with Bordeaux, but nothing crazy. Adebayor>>>>Chamakh

I'd take Adebayor on Juve ahead of Vuci, Berba, Amauri, Iaquinta, and Toni combined. I always thought he was a beast.

Why?

Man City are a team that is on the up and who look likely to win things in the next few years, unlike Arsenal.
Ya i'm sure thats why he wants to go there. Not the fact that they're willing to pay him 180k a week. :disagree:

Like i said, i don't begrudge him moving on, even to City. We obviously aren't showing any ambition to win things. But please don't give me the "i don't care about money" line.

It's a good policy if you look at it from the boards point of view. It's ideal actually. Why the fuck do they have to care about winning titles when they're making so much money? Not such a good policy for us fans though. We're fed up. Don't tell me we can't win titles. We are always in the running for the title until at least March, but then in the last two months thats when we lose it. Because we have absolutely zero depth and we have poor defenders. If Wenger actually spent some money on getting good defenders and good cover for the first team, it was perfectly possible that we could have won a title in the past few years.

Adebayor wanted to be paid 170k a week. He definitely didn't deserve that because of one good season. Plus we were changing to a 4-3-3, Adebayor would not have fit in that formation and he was too expensive to keep on the bench. Selling him was one of the few transfer market decisions that i agree with Wenger on.

City now Fred have more potential to win things than Arsenal, that's a given.
This is true. Arsenal are no more the team they were in the last decade I'm afraid.

It's time they start investing on some Vieira and Bergkamp type of players, wenger should stop his pedophile habit of signing virgin boys.

Udinese are considering accepting Barca's bid of 26 million euros cash, with the possibility of another 11 million euros depending on winning the league or the champions league and sanchez playing in at least 50% of the games
