Udinese have confirmed that Alexis Sanchez only wants to join European champions Barcelona this summer.

Barca, Inter, Juventus and both Manchester clubs have been tracking the Chilean, but it has now been confirmed that the forward is eyeing a Nou Camp switch.

“Sanchez only wants Barcelona,” Gino Pozzo, the son of Udine patron Giampaolo, stated on Wednesday.

“There are no Italian clubs now chasing Sanchez, not even Inter. There are only foreign sides interested because of the high costs involved.

“We’re now waiting for Barcelona and talks are going forward. We’ll find a solution with calm. Then if the player decides to stay in Udine we’ll be happy.”

Barcelona are now very much in pole position for the player after Manchester City pulled out of the race to sign him.

“You’ll have to ask them about that,” Pozzo added. “That’s because we have never negotiated with City. The boy just wants Barca.”

Pozzo also denied rumours that Barcelona’s Jeffren refused to be involved in the Sanchez transfer.

The Bianconero official was then asked to comment on the futures of Gokhan Inler and Cristian Zapata.

“Napoli are in talks with Inler, but at the moment nothing has been concluded,” he added. “If nothing is resolved before the start of pre-season then he will stay with us.

“As for Zapata, the intention is to keep him. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.”
