It depends what one deems a flop. There are some who think Villa flopped, and he scored alot of goals anyways. Same with Ibra, didnt fit in to their team/system, much but technically its bit hard to see someone who scored 25 goals as a flop.

I wouldn't say Villa flopped either even though Barca fans mocked him towards the end of the season. But yea, I don't care about the number of goals and assists Zlatan had for Barca, he did flop there. He could never even come close to what Eto'o had offered for Barca which made him an even bigger flop. There was a reason why Barca accepted such a big loss on him after only one season.

we all know you just hate Zlatan, admit it :p

I wouldn't say Zlatan flopped as a player at Barca but as a character/personality. There were reports he bitch-slapped Bojan and other Barca system youngsters and that, among other things, earned him the resentment of his teammates and Pepp G.

There were also some issues between him and Messi regarding who was the focal point of the team - during the first part of the season, Zlatan was on fire and Messi was living in his shadow. That reportedly added to friction in the locker room and eventually, as the 2nd half of the season came, Zlatan was no longer the same player for Barca and looked more and more like an outcast on the field.

After all that, Barca selling him at a big loss was nothing but disaster management on their part. His not wanting to go to City but Milan, as well the Galliani and Raiola alliance, added to the financial loss too ... not to mention their previous president was on the way out anyway.

I agree about Zlatan, theres a reason he started warming their bench a lot towards the end of the season too.
He generally has slowish months in most seasons, but besides not being fit for their type of approach and style, the reason he was benched was IMO more about his character and personality clash with teammates and more importantly with Pep, then just the underwhelming form. Atleast IMO thats defenitely the main reason he was sold/loaned out (plus being seen as the luxury signing of an outgoing President). If he fit into the group, behaved better, or hit off with Pep, there was more then good enough reason for him to stay for a 2nd season. Even if he didnt FIT them style wise. Henry didnt either in hist first season, and Ibra played better then Henry did in his first season. Difference being Henry wasnt a troublesome mix to hierarchy of the club.

I watched his games at Barca, he was a flop both as a player and as a character. He had no place in the fast rhythmic game Barca used to play. Eto'o + cash; For that sort of money he needed to offer much more. The more it went, the worse he looked, to my pleasure of course.

guys, Ibra's stats at Barca tell a story that says there a little more to it than just what's on the surface - he scored 12 or so goals in the first half season with Barca, not to mention assists. His issues at Barca, including not running enough and spending time on the bench started in late February, early March and for the rest of the season he scored a miserly 3-4 goals in the league. He literary looked like an outcast in the second part of the season.
At the same time, when he was leaving Barca, Ibra said that Pepp G. had not spoken to him since March of 2010 ... now, I don't know about you, but I'd call that a pattern, not a coincidence.

:D ... not only Strasser, he did the same to one of the players on the Swedish NT and Cassano too, at the end of the Roma-Milan game when Milan won the scudetto.

I guess the Barca stuck-ups just didn't get his sense of humor

ibrahimovic, such awsome player

playing del piero out of the juventus starting lineup, winning titles everywhere he goes...

hilarious how barcelona cant manage to get a systhem working around him

cause after all, he isnt part of the team, the team is build around him.

Best forward we had since del piero 2003, and a moggi's special.

 For that alone, he was a flop. Such a sorry character. He was a laughing stock at Barca, he was why I celebrated like mad when Inter won the CL*, the reason why Zlatan had left Inter for Barca :howler:

*I'm sorry if I brought you bad memories

No you got it wrong. Milan were a petty club before Zlatan joined so he might as well even punch Berlusconi himself in the face and they would still get his sense of humor. He won you the title, for that alone, he could punch the whole staff and still remained unpunished. At Milan, he might even stop talking to Allegri but it wouldn't be the other way around. Don't compare Milan with Barca.

The team is built around him out of the CL every year, with every team.

and that after what Moratti and Rossi did to Juve ... as I said, you personal dislike, or rather hatred for Zlatan, makes it difficult if not impossible for you to be objective on the matter :)

That's way over the top and just plain unrealistic, wouldn't you say ... after putting your personal dislike for Milan and Zlatan aside, of course :)

The guy has a ridiculous sense of humor, I am not claiming the opposite nor do I consider him a nice person or whatever ... but the Cassano and Wilmhelsson episode show that he hardly meant it seriously ... it's just his childish sense of humour.

Di Marzio: "Sanchez is a Barca player. Will become official on Tuesday. Udinese will get 28 mil + 10/11 mil bonus." ... details will be known later, maybe, but there was also a mention of Jefren going to Udinese too on top of all that money and bonuses.

Told you guys you need to sell Pepe to barca if you are to make a profit :D
