We're a big club that had some difficult years but now is back on the top stage. Two CL finals in the last three years is a good record for any club. We don't have as much money as Barca, Real or EPL teams but we're well off, we don't need to sell.
I have been a big fan of Sandro since his time in Porto (used to purchase him to all my teams in FM, where I originally spotted him before seeing him play "live"). His positioning is not always great and he does make errors but much less so since he arrived. IMO he is top three LB is the world. If we sell we will definitely downgrade and it would be a shame now that we're back on the stage and on the verge of finally taking home that CL trophy.
I really hope we do not sell. Another few things I hope, to kill off rumors around our top players in the future; 1) Media starts to recognize us, 2) other Italian teams finally steps up and actually makes a continental impact, which would help us in the first point. 3) We're improving our brand reputation and we need to continue doing that. My gut feeling is that EPL teams have a lot more reputation, even clubs like Spurs, than us. Despite that these teams are inferior and have not succeeded continentally for many years. This third point also refers to point one, of course. For many players, money talks, and I can't argue with that. However, I also think they see that it is not just about playing for a big club, but for a reputable club, which is possibly another reason for why some choose mid-table clubs in favor of big Italian teams. Not saying it is a big factor, but an influential one. Finally, 4) I dream that we get a more dispersed market of agents with no big names ruling where players come and go. Or that players start to see how they're being manipulated. This will not happen, but a man can dream.
