Yeah, pretty much. And he showcased it last night.

I'm a huge fan of sandro, he'll get there and become the world's best lb/lwb. But we needed the one who's defensively the best option last night
Nah. We need a fullback who is very solid defensively, but also offers something going forward... Alex Sandro is exactly that. It also frees up Pogba to play more central as Alex Sandro then offers attacking impetus from the left. With Evra, Pogba is basically forced to play fairly wide left while attacking to provide width himself. This limits him quite significantly.

I don't think Evra is a bad option... but he's significantly inferior overall to Alex Sandro at this point, and you see it every match Alex Sandro is on the pitch, he's always one of our best performers. Whereas Evra is solid, but almost never one of our best players on the pitch.

Today, we didn't need Evra's "defensive solidity" until Bonucci went off with a knock. At that point, with RUgani in, it was great to have Evra on just for the experience and calm factor... but no one could have guessed BonBon would be injured before the match, and what we most needed in this match, was better attacking play from the left side, and to give Pogba a little more freedom to move central in attack at times.

Evra was a beast last night. That goes for all the back four.

Seriously, stop with the whining here and Rugani's thread every week. Bunch of losers.

This is spot on. When Evra playes Pogba is supposed to stay on the left which makes him unefficient. More than Alex Sandro being a much better player than Evra at this point, the team is much more balanced when Alex Sandro is playing.
