Tuttosport is reporting that the left-back is on the verge of signing a two-year extension to his current contract, committing his future to the Old Lady until 2022.

The new deal would see Alex Sandro boost his salary from €2.8m to €4.5m plus bonuses, putting him in the wage bracket of the likes of Miralem Pjanic, Sami Khedira and Gianluigi Buffon.

It’s thought only the signature is lacking, so a new contract could be officially announced in the next few weeks.

There will be no release clause in the contract, as Juve don’t believe in setting a pre-determined price for their players.

He has been called to replace Marcelo...
Yep, I know. I was saying we should count our blessings that Tite doesn't call AS up (unless there's injury) after the convo running over from the previous page.

He chose to stay this season, and he's outperformed his current deal by market standards. One of the very best in the world at LB.

If the club wants him to stay long term, they should be paying him something a little more commensurate to what he'd get at a big club in England or Spain.

Not hard to understand. Most people who could make twice the salary to do the same job elsewhere would take the money. So far, he's chosen not to. We'll see where his loyalty lies after the season, but it's worth paying him as much as some of the equivalent or lesser players on this team, in an effort to try and get him to stay longer.

Obviously not a pointless renewal at all. He's one of our best players, and management would like him to stick around.

Chosen not to? Excuse me, but doesn't his contract run til 2020? And didn't he agree on his current salary by signing said contract? If he deserves a pay raise, he can get it by signing a new contract - when his old one runs out and not earlier.

It's not like he'll be out of contract in a half year, so we gotta make him sign a new one quick by offering him a huge pay raise. Yes, imo it is pointless from the clubs point of view. We shouldn't be the players bitch all the time, then again, that ship has sailed a long time ago.

:D

Dai, you know that isn't how things work right now at Juventus. He had the opportunity to go to Chelsea if he had so desired. Big offers were put on the table, and he decided that he didn't want to leave, that he wanted to stay at Juventus. You know this is what happened.

You know the club's current policy about these things -- they're not going to keep unhappy players against their will. Beppe was very specific in stating that if Alex Sandro wanted out, he would not be forced to stay. You can disagree with the policy as much as you like, but it has been very clearly stated.

Anyway, end of the day, this increases the likelihood that the player stays at the club longer -- whether that's by your desired contractual obligation, or the reality Beppe has stated and demonstrated. There are plenty of other more lucrative options out there, and I'm in favour of us keeping our best players -- and keeping them happy.

Those pointless renewals just to throw even more money down the players throats
Not pointless. If he is the second best LB in the world and irreplaceable like this forum has proclaimed him then he should be paid accordingly no?

Wait until his old contract runs out before resigning it? Are you purposefully pretending like you're new to this? And its not pointless, it is insurance that a prized asset doesn't get unhappy, demand to leave, when he has 1 year left on contract and then get sold for half value to avoid getting nothing at all.

You can say players have too much power but as long as they can get what they want at majority of other top clubs we have to provide it as well or nobody will come here.

Do you recieve raises at your job when you outperform your current level? If not do you become unhappy?

Dai completely off on this. Sandro has been undervalued and got a much much deserved raise.

You sound exactly like a stereotypical black woman character in a Tyler Perry's movie
