Alex might not be a organizer and good with the ball type defender but he is much better than Leonardo "I stretch my leg backwards" Bonucci. And now we have Pirlo who offers the short pass option instead of blasting the ball forward like we have seen last season.

If you buy Alex at least you'll have Alex to take the free kicks whenever Alex is not available. That way you'll get Alex's replacement on direct fks because Alex is really good at taking free kicks just like Alex, though, Alex likes to hit the ball really hard whereas Alex has a great combination of power and accuracy. Either way Alex will be useful.
