    Juve trust in Tacchinardi
    Thursday, 01 April 2004
Juventus FC midfield player Alessio Tacchinardi has renewed his contract with the defending Italian champions until 2008.

    New deal
The Italian international's previous contract was due to expire in 2005 but he has become the third Juventus player in a week to sign a new deal after Ciro Ferrara and Gianluca Zambrotta.

    Victories and defeats
Tacchinardi, 28, joined the Turin club from Atalanta BC in 1994 and has since claimed five league championships and an Italian Cup. He watched from the sidelines as Juventus beat AFC Ajax to win the 1996 UEFA Champions League, but then played in the subsequent final defeats by BV Borussia Dortmund, Real Madrid CF and AC Milan.

    Remaining goal
"My goal is to win the Champions League and I will do it even if I have to carry on playing until I'm 50," he said. Juventus were knocked out of this season's competition by RC Deportivo La Coruña in the first knockout round.

Tachi injurie was an ankle distortion. He will be evaluated in this next week, but it was serios, there is a chance he will not be back this season....
    oh..I hope he's back soon

the big problem with tachi is that is becoming too slow...Appiah maybe misses a lot of pass, but he runs a lot and "bites" many balls in the midfield, and as enough air to run back fast in counter atacks...Tachi is becoming slower with time and from minute 60 to end he is fused out....

well its no matter coz he dont need all the athleticism in the world to guard in front of the defends.. and its a good think really .. if the guy has running legs he will run too much and leave his post exposed....creating a hole in 'the hole'.. a bad thing .. that why players like Davids and Apiah needs the like of Tacchinardi or Tudor to cover them...

Eaglesnake_1 though he may be a bit slower but the good thing is that with every year he has more experience so he can compensate for the slowness

Dont get me wrong, i like tachi a lot and like he stays with the team...true, his experience counts in the middfield but from now on, he will depend in having a fast partner in his side...hopes appiah matures quickly to give him the right support.
