I'm not used to watching Makelele and Zanetti play, but ok, let's compare Tach with Gattuso and Keane at his prime.

One difference is, they're more hardworking/industrious than Tach. That's what Davids did. He ran all day and put in his fair share of tackles.

Another difference is that Tach loses the ball more than them!

oK. IMO Tach is a normal def midfielder, thats all.

Nothing out of the ordinary.
IN other words...there are other players who can do the same job.

thats why we need davids to partner tacchi.... tacchi cannot go run and tackle all over the place.. he have a position to protect... there is always a important player in the hole that he have to keep intention ..its very important to keep the shape of the formation... i dun know how you see it but i dun see roy keane chasing players around.. he is more or less like tacchi.. only with more crunching tackles... but there again there already people moaning on tacchi's yellow cards ... IMO gattuso and davids is not very suitable for such position.. it would be more relliable to use players that dont move too often... such as pirlo at Milan..tacchi juve and zanetti inter...

hmm.... i have to disagree that tacchi lose the ball a lot... most that i see him, every time he won the ball he always just pass it square to other players...you must be talking about his partner Appiah.. you know, the one with the darker skin...

Ahaha, you mean the black man.

No, I'm sure it's Tach. Everytime I see him try some fancy 'defence splitting pass', he only ends my splitting my freaking temper.

But like Hydde said, he's just an ordinary player. Maresca could do better in his position. Like much better. Problem is, we still won't have people to run for him. But its much better knowing that Maresca could find more options with the ball (other than losing it).

It seems to me you both are watching different matches as you see Tacchi so differently. I think he usually plays well, but of course he makes failures/mistakes as all the other Juve players in this period. About Gattuso he is far away a very differnt type of player, there is no sense to compare him with Tacchi. Just watch the body of both of them. Gattuso is shorter and stubbier, while Tacchi is tall and has a thinner body. They can't do the same things on the pitch for sure. If yes, Tacchi would get injured too often and it wouldn't help the team at all. And yes, Maresca would be better for a work as Gattuso's or Edgar's, but I think we also need Tacchi's play, because he can bring the midfield on his back with a decent play like in the last season!

agree completely :thumb:....

it always baffled me why people always compare tacchinardi to the likes of Davids, Gattuso and especially Maresca.... those are the the type of players who would go further up field to tackle players... while as Tacchi's job is more like a stopper... a defender in midfield... covering up for davids... and why would we put Maresca in that position?.. that would completely waste his attacking ability... beside.. i dun know where u people see them, but i never see a game where Maresca is exceptional defensively..

Alright, I'll ask a question on Tach's "influence" then.

Can we live without him?
oh god... with our faltering midfield this season, its always uneasy for me to watch a match without Tacchinardi in midfielld... all the players are down this season... but only Tacchi can show somekind of stability to hold things together in there... he has this quality that have no substitute in our current team... the same goes for Trezeguet and Buffon..

i dun understand what people expect from Tacchi... i dun think he is way inferior to Makelele, Roy Keane, Gattuso, Zanetti, .... he has all the quality needed for his position..
    go ale!! :thumb:

    softcore.....here's my answer...
it seems we didn't need to wait so long ;)

    you are right annie...
and i see tacchi play well (to the matches i have seen, and they are not very few...)

he is good at his position but this year the whole team seems lost in space...

when nedved doesn't play well sometimes,we can't expect tacchi to play AMAZING or stuff!!

there is no player in the world, who is unsubstitutable, so of course juve can move forward without tacchi and other 20 players as well;)

You made the comparison so that's why I pointed out that Tach wasn't the 'industrious' kind of player.

Why should we put Maresca there? Well, why did Milan put Pirlo there? Maresca might not be as good as Tach defensively, but he's definitely stable there. And knowing Maresca, he can create while Tach can't.

Expected somebody to say this...

Ok, what I meant was, would Juve be weaker without him? Is he indispensable? Like for example, without Henry, Arsenal are a much more different side.

Whether Tach plays or not, I don't think it really matters. Like what Hydde said,

    "Nothing out of the ordinary.
IN other words...there are other players who can do the same job."

i can say that YES juve will be weaker without him, we don't have any defencive player in midfield. though i can clearly imagine tacchi and maresca together in our midfield and this looks quite good for me;)

i can make ya alist of at leats 10 of them

and tacchinardi is not in it
Yo liliana come one u know that the player in juve are doing really good and not 10 i think the only player whos absloultey dead is tudor along side iluanio but maybe iluanio could benefit in comtimes..

    and ahead
what is so wrong with tacchirnardi..
i mean okay so he may not be as good as some player out there but i think hes a really good playe rhsi problems is he gets into trouble easly..

i doubt moggi would keep tacchinardi for long if this was the case!
moggi and many of the fans see somthing in tacchinardi that u dont!!
