thx

"I told [Juve coach] Ciro Ferrara that I couldn't say no to Fiorentina," Zanetti said. "I'm delighted to return to Florence."
Still, I don't think Zanetti wanted to leave no matter what. He has never said or done anything to make us think that.

I assume Fiorentina contacted Juve (the club), showing their interest in Cristiano, at least that's how it should go when a player is under contract. Our management probably gave their ok, since it looks like Poulsen wants to stay no matter what. Cristiano probably thought (as did most people) that he wouldn't be starter anymore with us, so from his point of view the deal makes sense. I hate to see him leave though.

Also, Zanetti is from Tuscany and he started his career in Fiorentina. From Viola's youth teams, even made it to the senior team before he left for Venezia.
I wouldn't be surprised if he's actually a Fiorentina fan and that's maybe another reason why he's so delighted with this transfer.

Of course, as Buck Futter says, everything was done legally. Fiorentina asks Juve about Zanetti (although an earlier meeting between Fiorentina and Zanetti's agent can't be excluded) , Juve tells Zanetti about Fiorentina's offer and Zanetti, knowing that he'll have guaranteed first team football in (maybe) his favorite club, gladly accepts the offer.

My bad! The bashers have support.

Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio says he does “not understand why Cristiano Zanetti was sold” to Fiorentina.

The transfer was officially confirmed today for around £1m, but took some of his teammates in Turin by surprise.

“I did not expect Cristiano's sale and I haven't spoken to him yet,” commented Marchisio.

“I do not understand why he was sold, I really didn't see this coming. He is a friend and helped me so much.”

Marchisio has received his debut Azzurri call for Wednesday's friendly against Switzerland and can consider this a 'promotion' with less competition for places at Juve.

“In theory I could have more space, but with so many competitions we are in this season, we could both have played regularly.”

Weak support, because Marchisio says he hasn't spoken to Zanetti yet, so he doesn't even know what happened and why did Zanetti leave.

Fine, i'll stop now. Let the bashing continue. :D

I can even contribute by saying that Zanetti is probably lying and he isn't delighted with this transfer. He says all this only because he's aware of the relations between Juve and Fiorentina fans. If he says the truth (that he wanted Juve but Secco made him leave) then Fiorentina fans will be mad at him for prefering Juve.
This way he wins their hearts.

Everyone can buy best players when you have big money limit. The trick is to buy best with what you have.Zanetti is ten times more usefull and better player than Poulsen and Tiago both.Fuck, wrong move.
oh, so the trick is keeping a player who will not feature in many games and so be glad to be a free agent and move somewhere else without us getting any fee, right ?

i don't know if that works in your version of football manager, but in mine it does not work and i always get fired for that !

what version of football manager do you play ? i want to get this one too ! much more cool !

Still, I don't think Zanetti wanted to leave no matter what. He has never said or done anything to make us think that.
thats what traitors do ! they work in the background making sinister plans to hurt juve ! but don't be sad, like every traitor, secco will get zanetti back once he is 35 ;)

fuck sucko for reducing the wages!

But now he's forced to spit in our faces instead. Secco has put Zanetti in a position where he risks losing all of his fans, which is very disrespectful against a loyal servant like Cristiano.
I think people here gives Secco much more credit that he deserves...

Lets no make more drama than its to it... Fiorentina ask for Zanetti, Juve told Zanetti the offer, Zanetti agree to move, theres no more into it, and anything besides that are just "paranoic ideas".

Look, I like Zanetti the same as you guys, but lets face the facts here he is old and this was his last year in his contract, he wanted to play more, and in Juve he was last in picking order, also we have Poulsen who is younger and he wants to stay, having all this in consideration, his move is not that ilogical has many of you want to make it sound.

Im not trying to defend Secco and become one of his fans, but this transfer season has been pretty good and I just feel that many of you were just wating that he makes one bad move to get back on his back.

I actually agree with you. I was being ironic.
