Can't really complain about anything Secco said there.

The Mascherano thing should also serve as a reminder that the management can do everything right and still miss out on a target. These things are complicated.

And I agree with Mark that the Tiago comment may be more of a negotiating position rather than really being determined to keep him.

There is one thing about Tiago, it is Seccos transfer and he was yet to admit his transfer mistakes!
Selling Tiago, would have been the first demonstration of back-stepping!
Secco has personal reasons to avoid that. Tiago's sale would release a midfielder slot, to Dago and create some cash for our needed defensive replacements!

Actually a year ago he had a rather candid break down of our transfers and saying which havent worked or, or why he sold some players (like Mutu etc), Tiago included (and conveniently enough Cronios, you forget we tried to offload Tiago to Monaco and Tottenham in two different mercato's, both times Tiago saying no, didnt even wanna talk to Everton too). You can say alot of Secco, but not some egomaniac who makes decisions based on foolish pride etc. That past interview was similar to this one, while being professional and not comprising the clubs interests, he still manages to be fairly straight forward and honest.

Yes i remember that^^

Almiron:agree:

But my point is, that these mistakes, not only hurt our team momentarily, but also had deeper implications in our development in the long run!

Any player may flop, but a whole batch of them flopping hard and us being forced to play their salaries of a couple of years or sell them off, is a disaster beyond excuses!

Secco tried to minimize damages, admitting one mistake, trying to make some money from another one and buy urgently, a new player to fix his previous mistakes.
He tried to isolate those incidents and present them as singular mistakes, in order to avoid admitting the total failure of his transfer strategy.
It was not Almiron, or Andrade, or Bojinov, or Tiago who have flopped, but Secco!!!

In man with self respect and any drop of love for this club would have quit some time ago!!

Since life is not that good and we will have to endure Secco furthermore, i at least hope that he realized his mistakes and learned smth from them!

I m pleased with what he said too Osman, but i am making this observation, not (only) to flame him, but to remind, that that he would rather avoid selling Tiago right now because of this reason!
We ve quietly dropped Andrade and we might find a way to quietly drop Almiron too this year.
Tiago is more valuable and admitting this failure would make more of an impact to his image at a time, when everything else seems to work fine!

Fuck SUCKO!!! :D

I'm really pleased to read an interview like that with Secco, and i'm 100% sure that we are heading to the right direction and it's nice to see that we have serious plan.

And like Red said, Mascherano is great example how you can miss on a player without your fault.

This is just fvcking BS, why do you do this? Seriously, we have tried to sell Tiago TWICE, he shut him out COLD for a while (not playing for months, being told he isnt wanted etc), to the point Tiago reacted so insanely stupid out of frustration by locking our clownish president in the toilet. Secco would DEFENITELY sell Tiago if there was a good opportunity for it, Tiago refused to go before twice, and he is prolly saying Tiago will stay prolly because he saying he will go will lower our chance for a decent deal even more (its bad enough as it is), or because Tiago is still refusing to leave and its safer choice to say he will stay, then say he will be sold and then be unable to find clubs that will take on Tiago's big salary, and which would also interest Tiago himself.

Seriously, FFS, get a grip, there is some things you can criticise Secco for, to invent this bullshit is absolutely retarded, why do you insist with this BS?

Alessio Secco on:

Regrets: Mascherano. We had an agreement with him for an 18 month loan deal for 1.5m Januray 2007. He would have got 0.5m till Juve and more later. The deal feel through because of Msi that wanted him to go to Liverpool. Javier cryed when he learned the deal was off.
wow

Will you calm down, for starters??

Can you imagine a better reason, that we wouldnt sell off, or even release, a player who has locked our president in the toilet??
Have you ever heard of any other player to hold a prestigious club like Juve, from the balls like that??

Secco is held hostage, of this situation and he couldnt afford to release/sell off such an expensive player, under those circumstances!
He would rather do that, when our attention would be distracted.
And our five year plan's fatal wounds from this deal would be marginally healed.
It is nearly impossible to find another club, being stupid enough to pay close to the money we paid for Tiago's transfer AND salary AND prestigious/ambitious enough to satisfy Tiago, in order to sell him in a decent manner.
Therefore i was convinced that we are not going to sell him, or even Almiron, for the past two years and used that argument in countless debates between us (esp the Poulsen deal).
You are just bitter now, because i was proved right... once again...

But thats not important, the important thing, is that this story is harmful to Juve's prestige!
It is really embarashing that we have to tolerate a player who mokes our president and doesnt even have the the will to play anymore,
just because our transfer manager is unable to sell him...
He is actually unable to sell anyone for a decent sum...

Ahmed, conspiracy has nothing to do with this matter...
The reasons and actions are apparently in plain view, for everyone to see them! And thats the issue here, our situation cannot be concealed...

To be fair, the thing that holds Secco hostage is Tiagos wage, and no one wants to pay that kind of wages to him. Do you really think that Secco is afraid of Tiago? I mean really?

I don't remember when Tiago was brought, but didn't a lot of you thought that it was a good deal?

No, of course not! But he is afraid to accept his responsibilities and massive failure that has compromised our five year plan and also created some ripples that affected and still affect our transfer strategy, even today!

The money Secco has spent for Tiago, Almiron, Iaquinta, 50% Criscito and Andrade.
Could really help us build a strong basis and with the funds we have spent since then. We could already field a competitive team by now!

Secco didnt take this money from his pocket! He sure answers to someone.
And even if our current boards supports him, because they are faulty as him.
Our shareholders wouldnt digest this failure that easy
Esp all those numbers within a year. They would have them all replaced,
if he were offloading all of them for one quarter of the money they spent!

The only way to avoid this, is minimizing casualties and scatter around those players and the effects of those mistakes,
postponing the final judgement, hoping that the success the other players might bring, will be enough to forget the millions thrown away in the wind!
Cutting down those mistakes, to small pieces, would make them easier to digest...

You can see this, by the way he has handled these players.
Released and payed Andrade with heavy cash.
Abused by Tiago and force CR to recall his judgement for him and role in our team.
Loaned out Criscito, to the same team, with the same right to buy clause, just to get rid of him asap and risking losing once again.
Tried all possible and impossible ways to get rid of Almiron, but still we had to pay half of his salary to convince Fiorentina to take him on loan...

These are all rushed, half measures and a pathetic attempt to minimize damages...
All fronts are still open and as they remain open, they are only flops on the field, not the books.
When we will sell them and close their books, only then we can calculate how much our club was hurt by those transfers.
Secco has a reason to postpone than indefinitly.
I was expecting to see how he will try to fix those open wounds for two years.
His excuses for his past deeds will be unarguably over then!
And hopefully, the mouths of his followers too!

That would have been very impressive. Definitely not that bad a mercato so far as well

Poor Javier.

That above is almost as funny as you generally trying to find every possilbe angle to blame Secco, first its his ego, and the only reason Tiago isnt leaving is because he doesnt want to admit he failed with Tiago, and is driven by his pride. When I say its the contrary of Tiago refusing to go and being hard to sell due to his wages, you ofcourse twist it back to Secco also like you were even acknowledging that in your previous post. You are absolutely ridicolous.
