cronios- how you can say that we mods are not doing their job then go on a rant where you talk about freedom of speech is a bit contradictory. the great thing about fotball is that everyone has an opinion and we will not always agree with each other.

the problem is that you seem to disregard anyones opinion that does not agree with you, now that is not too uncommon on these forums but it is the level of disdain that you give their opinions that annoys people and causes them to attack your beliefs.

sometimes it pays to be more humble
You mean that i am not humble??
You mean that i provoke them with personal attacks/insults/mockery??
You mean that i do not tolerate the opposite view and flamed anybody instead of bringing arguments to my own cause??
Then i advice you to read again at the last two-three pages and see what happened!!
Explain to me where is the contradiction, when i am trying to debate a matter and instead of argument and i only see that mud is thrown at me!!!
Is this how i am supposed to respond? Should i help this escalate?
Where did i tried to impose my own opinion with mockery arrogance, irony and a pathetic attempt to discredit my fellow debater without showing any kind of respect to freedom of speech??

Or you are just accusing me of showing much more respect to ppl i shoulnt??
Because thats exactly what happened here...
The problem is not if someone attacks my beliefs, thats why i am here for.
The problem is that they only attack me instead of my beliefs/arguments...
Secco:
“Cassano is a champion, but there are others like him out there. Plus, he is a striker and we are not looking for that kind of player."

So, Cron, you were sure that we'll splash our transfer budget on a striker. What do you have to say about this?
Just like i said talk is cheap, we ve heard before that we are buying a top class midfielder who will "resolve" our creativity problems and we ended up with ... Poulsen...
Gigli and Secco are full of pompous announcements, but so far their deeds proves otherwise...
No one can tell with certainty if this time they got it right or not!
I honestly hope, that we wont waste any more money on the forward line,
we will buy Neddy's successor and finally invest on our defense!
One thing is certain though, the news of not signing a forward and prefer quality over quantity feel me with joy! I will be mostly pleased if those words wont be proved as empty promises.

ya that should be funny :D

ok let's be realistic. it's a fact that secco did not a good job at his transfers.
1. he overpayed for some of the players
2. only 2 players he bought are now startes (amauri, sissoko) the rest mostly failed or were jsut bought to be squad players.
3. and something that annoys me the most is the let's make a saga out of every transfer...
4. he failed to bring in the wc players that were promised...

soooooooo buuuuuuuuut i am not saying that some other guy would have done much better! first of all we missed the cash and also the cl to get wc players.
Actually i partly agree with that at first
but it's not all Secco fault alone, i thin Ranieri give the contribution because as i think Ranieri doesn't have character with his formation like LIppi or like Capello (who like to play 2 DM, but DM who has ability to pass and bring the ball forward like Vieira or Emerson)

At season 07/08, we buy 2 CM, at that time Tiago is a great CM in Lyon as he distributed the ball in midfield and Almiron has just one season wonder with Empoli and bring them to mid spot.. What i don't like is why we must buy those 2 players who doesn't have any character as a ball winner in CM.. especially Almiron. I think that kind of CM is needed in Serie A.. As Roma has De Rossi, Milan has Gattuso and Ambro, Inter has Cambiasso.. and then CR realized that and bring Momo... and for that Secco paid 11 + 2 mill Euros that at time i think it overpaid. because Momo is not needed by Liverpool, but the fact is Momo is already sign contract extension with Pool in Summer so his price is higher

Andrade was brought that time as we need a new experienced CB as a partner for Criscito who touted as Italian future CB.. At first we want Milito but he is very expensive (24 mill Euros to Barca if i'm not wrong) and then Secco see that Andrade is available at cheaper price.. As Andrade has a lot of experiences in NT and CL and his reputation so we ended buy him... but unfortunately he actually has a bad knee injury back in Depor, and our medical staff or might be Secco not clearly check it if the injury can back again... For IQ transfer, actually i don't have know the considerations but i think they think we need back up striker and IQ has experience in Serie A as good goal scorer... Other than that like Brazzo, Grygera, Noccerino, Moli is just come for free or we bought their half ownership

This season, our transfer is improving actually.. but again we ignore that we need to strengthen our Def especially FB and our creative midfield (winger).. Amauri transfer was spot on... we only manage to spend 15 mill cash for a one of most great reliable striker in Serie A, Amauri.. Even MU spend more on Berba, City on Robinho, and Madrid on Huntelaar... but still Amauri performances is better than them this season.. For another MC, we buy again because Ranieri and management see we need new CM to partner Momo, as Tiago is flop and we want to offload him..From the lesson Ranieri get in first season he thinks that he wants that a new CM has a great defensive ability too. at first we interested in Seydou Keita but again he bought by Barca for 14 mill, and then Xabi but it way too expensive and Pool not get Barry as Xabi replacement.. and there is Poulsen as one of best DM in La Liga who can start up the play in Sevilla... but what they forgot that Poulsen also can't play well if he partnered with another DM like Momo, previously in Sevilla he plays with box to box mid like Keita.. so as the consequences if we play Poulsen and Momo together i see our CM is far too deep in the back when we attack... Another transfer this season is only free transfer or co-ownership again like Gio, Mellberg, and DC...and the talented like Ekdal and Iago, not including Knezevic

So i won't blame it all on Secco... but it mixed up too with Ranieri lack of idea on what kind of players he really need for his formations, tactics, and strategy...
Other than that i don't understand why our scout can't monitor a player like Vidic, Agger, Evra, etc that Liverpool or MU or other can get from nothing...Also Ranieri doesn't much believe in youngster like Gio, Iago, Ekdal, Ariaudo... We need the youngster actually when there is our senior players performs badly

Oh dear, if Ranieri does not believe in these players, why bring them in? I may be dreaming when I saw Ekdal and Ariaudo playing as well. Come on, just because Giovinco is not played as much as you would like, does not mean that Ranieri does not trust the young players.

Secco: Old Lady can do it

Tuesday 3 March, 2009

Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco maintains the Old Lady can catch Inter at the top of Serie A.

The Turin giants cut Inter's advantage from nine points to seven with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Napoli as the Nerazzurri were held by Roma.

While many believe that that gap will prove too great for the Bianconeri, Secco is keeping the faith.

“Juve has always kept believing,” Secco said on Sky Sport Italia.

“We just need to think about ourselves and to keep doing our best. In the end we will sit back and look at how well we did.”

Juventus also face a tough test in the Champions League last 16 where they trail Chelsea 1-0.

“Over the years Juventus have always shown that it is in their character to fight to the end and that hasn't changed,” Secco said.

“The first leg result was no disaster and we put in a good performance in London. If we had picked up a draw nobody would have said that we didn't deserve it.

“We still have a decent chance because there are 90 minutes left to play.”

Secco concluded by giving his view on the controversial refereeing during Inter's 3-3 draw with Roma.

“We all saw what happened, but today is a new day and we need to turn over a new leaf,” the Juve director declared.

“We always praise English football, so perhaps we should use them as an example in how to deal with these situations.”
