Pepe isn't a piece of crap, but even in form (given the upgrades to the squad) he is nothing more than a squad player. Hence, having him here negates the need for guys like Cerci and Diamanti (more fillers and squad players). That was the point I was trying to make genius.

Someone said we don't need squad players. We certainly do - we need better ones. We're not going to splurge 100 m to find better players than Tevez, Llorente, Vidal or Pogba. No one said we don't need squad players. The thing is that we already have enough of those. What we actually need are players who would improve our starting line up so we could get closer to other top teams in Europe. Cerci won't get us there unlike someone like Di Maria for example.

I am not implying anything. If we are to improve our squad and attempt to be more flexible in Europe, we need far better than Cerci and Diamanti. We are already streaking in Serie A, so more depth for the league is unnecessary at this point. My argumentation is that guys like the aforementioned duo will do jack shit for us in Europe (i.e. they will not boost our chances in the CL, which is ultimately what we should be aiming for).
