Some transfer threads are going in Circles atm

On one hand we're saying "We need elite players, no more 'good' players"

On the other hand we're saying "We can not afford elite players"

There is no compromise really. We either spend big OR we go after realistic targets. Like Cerci.

People are getting riddiculed for saying they want Cerci, but if the same person says "F*ck it, let's get Robben instead" they'll be riddiculed for wanting players that we supposedly can't afford.

Cerci would be decent if he came for 100% Giovinco + the other 50% of Immobile
1.5 players + cash isn't worth it. Not when you consider the 3 players involved.
that's too much.

I dint say elite 'players' though.I said i want players with much bigger/better skillset and Lamela falls in that category for me.

Lamela is a player who we can develop into an elite one.Cerci on the other hand is a good player but not a world beater by any means.I'm thinking long term always so i'd always choose the former over the latter.

Tevez - Llorente - Cerci?

Not too shabby, but I hope Cerci doesn't take away opportunities from Berardi.

I don't know if everyone knows this but in addition to Cerci's 9 goals so far, he also has 7 assists.

Very good numbers for half a season. He could be what is needed to unleash the beast that is Llorente. :D

Players with 7 assists in other leagues are:

Ozil (EPL), Bale (La Liga), and Ribery (BL)

He's among the top assist men in Europe. :touched:

But I'm skeptical of this transfer.

There has to be every chance that Berardi won't be at Juve for another 18 months.

Far, far too soon to be worrying about him not getting a chance.

I'd be really worried for our European ambitions next season if we're willing to spend that much money on someone like Cerci. I hope we'll dodge this bullet.

Thing is, Giovinco's contract expires in 2015.

He's barely playing, so it makes no sense to renew his contract, since like every player in the world he'll request a higher salary.

Also it's not going to be easy to offload him just one year before his contract expires and get around 10M for him.

So the best way out would be to swap him for Cerci and add a little bit of money or 1/2 half Immobile, who will never reach Juve level.

Torino is a club I believe Giovinco could accept to play, where he would dominate like at Parma. He wouldn't have to even change the city. And a Club with much more tradition and a very loyal fanbase.

And most importantly, Torino is a club who would be willing to do this. Parmas and Sassuolos, where Giovinco would thrive, will never pay 10M for a player. Torino won't either. But they have a player to swap.

So it's more a matter of circunstance and opportunity than actually being so high on Cerci. I'd rather see Cerci being exchanged for Giovinco than Biabiany, the other realistic option. Lol.

And for instance, swapping 1/2 Berardi for a full Giovinco would be brillant.

But he'd NEVER accept to play for Sassuolo at this point.

Yeah exactly. Immobile will never play for us, we don't want him and he doesn't want us. Not to mention he's not good enough.

So, he's pointless atm. Giovinco.... he's almost useless to us. We barely play him and his value will decrease all the time because of it. As will his contract length

So if we can get rid of two players who we have absolutely no use for, in return for a player who MIGHT be good for us and who happens to be in the form of his life. Then why not do it?

Torino can be tempted with such players, any other club with a 'top' winger I.E Madrid aren't going to be interested in Gio and Immobile, are they?

We get rid of dead wood, for Cerci. Worst case scenario, realistically is Cerci has a similarly average impact to Giovinco. No loss here.

Hadn't realised Giovinco's contract was expiring.

Swap deals always give the opportunity for some financial jiggery-pokery.

Could allow Juve and Torino to put inflated values in their accounts for Cerci and Giovinco, even though it won't make a difference to the amount of actual cash that changes hands.

Everybody wins

Giovinco would thrive in Torino, Cerci gets his last shot at the big stage and probably some easy trophies, we get rid of one player who we couldn't care less about and one who we try our hardest not to use in turn for a player who could prove useful.
