He's a penalty box player, so any fans (regardless of team) who are used to watching, or prefer, strikers with a nice touch and a bit of dribbling are never going to like him.

Milan might not actually be a good fit for him, but Pazzini did fine in that role last year.

a penalty box player should be clinical at the very least. Matri isn't such a cold blooded finisher in front of goal.

He's the Italian Heskey.

Amauri did quite well for us too for a while
Don't compare excrement with a class personality - Matri is a good finisher when he gets game time. The video above is not even an epic miss by any means - every striker has these. Eto'o missed one INSIDE the 6 yard box under no pressure against us once. Matri is a good bench player and a great starter for any mid-table team. He never once complained or misbehaved in his time here like that idiot Quagliarella who said God knows what to the coach when being subbed, nor did he troll us for years on his salary like Amauri. He was only respectful during his time here and has been so after he left.

Matri was just a panic buy, they Pazzini injured so they decided to risk the only money they had on this guy.
Nah, no panic buy.

Changing to playing 4-3-1-2, instead of playing 4-3-3 like they did last season, means it very difficult to stretch the opposition with width.

That means it vital to have a striker who is willing to run off the ball and stretch the game long in order to create space.

Milan had no-one capable of doing that, so they bought Matri who is good at doing that (he's no Iaquinta, but he is good at it).
