Matri is one of the juventinos' underrated players. Actually we don't need a WC striker if we have a good striker who has WC support.

For me, if he keeps playing well and scoring goals until the end of the season, we should buy him. Either way, we can't afford WC strikers in this the summer...

I don't dislike Matri because he has produced more than our other frontmen after Quags went down, but some of your points are questionable

Valid

At the moment, yes. But Vinny is a much better overall player than Matri. Injuries and off-form circumstances leave Vinny in a poor situation

Subjective but true

Yes, Amauri did literally nothing for us during his time in Turin. But we all saw what the guy did in Palermo and that was the reason why we broke to bank for him. I just hope that if Matri stays with us then he continues to perform this well.

Dependent on the extent of his injury and threshold of pain he can sustain. But props regardless

Null point

I would be mad at any player if they rolled around with some ugly chick :D
To be fair, I tried to write that post in a way where it wouldn't be a long droning post, like a select few do on this forum (no names mentioned). Didn't want to seem like a long boring piece to read.

Also, alot of those points are subjective like you said, I am trying to defend this guy against some of the negative comments. He's doing well so far, putting away chances.

Not saying we should sign him for the high price tag, I'm sure Marotta will work on that. However if the dead weight strikers were shifted, surely signing Matri would be a no-brainer. Even if as a backup.

Just taking a look at the UCL winners and their strikers:

2010- Inter: Eto'o, Milito, Pandev, Balotelli
2009- Barcelona: Henry, Eto'o, Gudjohnsen, Bojan
2008- United: Rooney, Tevez, Saha
2007- Milan: Inzaghi, Gilardino, Borriello, Oliveira
2006- Barcelona: Eto'o, Larsson
2005- Liverpool*: Baroš, Cisse. Milan: Shevchenko, Crespo, Tomasson

No coincidence that the team that won the UCL have at least 1 or 2 quality strikers. Except for Liverpool's side

You want silverware? Get quality strikers.
Matri will never ber as good as Inzaghi or Vieiri, and I know people here hate and don't rate Gilardino but he's better than Matri.

Spend 18m on Matri, get Mazzari or keep Del Neri as the manager and sell Buffon and Chiellini and then we can finally call Juve a mid table team.

What exactly is so quality about Milan's 2007 CL winning strikeforce? If you are talking about production, then yes, Inzaghi in the CL is quality. But, that 2007 Milan strikeforce doesn't exactly strike fear into many people when you look at the individual talents of that unit

Your forgetting one thing - Juve is no longer in a position in which we can even talk about CL, and we are already a mid-table team.

Matri in no CL material and he doesn't worth 15m. All of that is true. We got 9 more matches left of this season to decide weather he's a safe bet for next season or not, because, frankly, I can't see a world-class striker singing for a mid-table team in Serie A in the upcoming seasons (History doesn't count nowadays. Only the pay-check).

So, as I see it, our options for next season: Matri-Quaq or Iaquinta-some-average-stiker-who-we-loaned-from-ceasena. It's your choice.

you are right, but but but what is with neymar and ganso ? people here made me believe we would get these future stars because we ARE JUVE and juve only accept world class material.

it's sad but the train is long gone, we can dream as much as we want, but we wont get any worldclass players until we play half decent in the champions league. no one wants to come to a club that is not playing in europe for sure
