Alessandro, from what you’ve seen in the last few weeks, what is Juventus?
“Juve is one of the most important teams in the championship and all over the world. I thought it before and the whole group I found, as well as the club, confirmed my belief.”
Can we say that there was a change in your career? And did you expect things to happen so suddenly?
“It wasn’t so sudden, as it happened over a week. Of course, there was a change but now it’s up to me to keep going. I can say that I enjoyed the whole transfer market, up to the last moment! It’s been amazing joining Juventus. To come here has been a dream, and I hope it will continue.”
What did Juve-Inter mean to you before your arrival and what does it mean now?
“Before arriving here, Juve-Inter was the so-called Italian Derbu, one of the most important matches on the championship. And also one of the games that I liked to watch at home. Now, it’s an essential fixture where we have the possibility to show our value against a direct opponent, and of course I can’t wait for the match to begin.”
Footballer, young, good-looking, engaged with a showgirl, Federica Nargi. Footballer and showgirl seems the typical match: it it like that or there is something more?
“There’s a lot more, because there’s a real relationship. It’s not like some say, where a footballer goes out with a showgirl. I didn’t meet a showgirl, I met Federica. For me she was and she still is an important person because she’s been with me over the last two years (that is since we met) and she’s always stood by me even during more difficult moments, always supporting me. Therefore, this common sense isn’t true for us.”
Your overall price is quite high: 18 millions euros. Do you feel it weighs you down or are you worth it?
“It doesn’t weigh me down. I’m proud of it and it gives me the incentive to show my worth.”
Has Marotta made the right choice in buying you and not Pazzini?
“Yes (laughs).”
