Roma Eyeing Up Juventus Striker

Roma could kickstart their spate of summer signings by bringing in Juventus striker Alessandro Matri, who is believed to be surplus to requirements in Turin.

Despite registering eight goals in 22 appearances, the former Cagliari forward is not considered indispensable, with the Italian champions ready to part with him to raise funds for other targets in attack.

The Giallorossi, who are understood to have contacted current AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri for the dugout next season, have therefore identified Matri as an ideal reinforcement to bolster their strikeforce.

Allegri is said to be a big fan of his former protege in Sardinia from their time together, but first will have to convince the player to leave Juventus given the 28-year-old has commonly reiterated his desire to fight for his place.

Matri’s departure from the Bianconeri could already be sealed however, as hitman Fernando Llorente is due to arrive from Athletic Bilbao once his contract with the Basque club expires.

Maybe that flick to Asamoah in our 6-1 win over Pescara? It ricocheted off a delfino defender IIRC.
hmm maybe, or when he had a shit and the keeper parried it to matri against celtic I think?
That sort of thing.

When a player deserves some sort of credit for the creation of a goal, but hasn't done enough to be credited with a full assist.

Well good thing stats don't mean anything.

It's all about off the ball movement

Numbers can't prove that. But members here can.

Exactly, Hustini, and thanks for pointing that out by the way :)

Other players score more goals whenever Matri is playing, which is something you can't read out of those stats.

Compliments to Quag for a very good season, though, he was slightly better than Matri in the areas posted by ID.

Could be because the rest of the team chooses to involve matree less meaning the other attacking players have a higher chance of scoring.

Can't see that in stats either.

The guy can't do anything in build up play...has a hee-haw first touch. The only thing I will give him credit for is the occasional ability to squeeze into tight spaces.

I'm sorry 18m and 10 goals is sad.
