Birindelli missed last week's match due to muscular problems. He wasn't training ever since and yet, surprisingly, he was among the called players for this match.
I can only speculate but there is a big possibility that Biri was still injured but yet he was given a chance to at least sit on the bench.
No, no, no, you got it all wrong. It has to be something bad Ranieri did, it has to be something negative, it has to be otherwise there won't be a drama.

And it's good that you're back, I read that you were in Rome, maybe you should have stayed until tomorrow, there is a slight chance you would have caught celebrations.

Yeah, such a shame I couldn't have stayed even a day more. It would have been cool to catch the celebrations.
But i caught the atmosphere after Materazzi missed the penalty and after Inter failed to beat Siena and now i can only imagine what will happen in Rome tomorrow.

what about his assist to Zalayeta against Barcelona ;)
Oh yeah, I went completely mental when that goal was scored.

Actually mental doesn't even begin to describe that moment. Watching it with two Barca fans, who kept on bitching about our supposed "negative" tactics. And then bam, goal! What a feeling what a feeling...I'll never forget that for as long as I live...

There is another one I can't forget that, but I am not sure which year was it or against who, maybe it was Perugia, we were down 1-0 at half time, and when the second half started immediately, Birindelli recieved the pass, he run over from the right side alone, and made a great cross close from the corner area, to Inzaghi and bang! Inzaghi header 1-1. That took seconds from the start of the second half, it could be against Perugia, I am not sure thou, but It was Ancelotti's time.

Juve Always Better Than Inter – Birindelli

Outgoing Juventus veteran Alessandro Birindelli has launched another attack on Inter, and says that the Nerazzurri have always been inferior to the Old Lady.

Inter wrapped up their second straight Scudetto on the field at the weekend with their win at Parma. Birindelli was asked if the Beneamata deserved their title success.

"Yes, they had the strongest team,” he told Tuttosport.

“In some ways they are similar to the Juventus that won those two championships [under Fabio Capello], the ones that were taken away from us.”

Juventus had the two Scudetti they won on the pitch in 2005 and 2006 revoked following the Calciopoli crisis.

Most Juventini have never recognised the legality of Calciopoli, and indeed some have blamed Inter for the scandal. Birindelli is one of these people.

"Inter know who won those championships,” he roared.

“Their players know very well who was always superior on the field. We're never been inferior to Inter, even this year.

“When we won at San Siro I looked at their team and saw a kind of inferiority complex.”

Birindelli will leave Juventus this summer after 11 years at the club, and it is something he is still coming to terms with.

“I have a strange feeling of emptiness, because Juve has been my life over the last 11 years and I miss them very much already," he concluded.
