Beppe Marotta says Aleksandr Golovin 'is more than just a possibility for Juventus’ but 'we’re still far away’ for Matteo Darmian.

Golovin has been likened to Pjanic in playing style, with the Russian described 'better’ than the reported Barcelona target, but Marotta suggested Juve could have both midfielders on their books next season.

“Golovin? It’s more than just a possibility. We haven’t received any offers for Pjanic,” he told Corriere dello Sport.

Juventus close to Golovin
By Football Italia staff

Juventus are close to a deal with CSKA Moscow for Aleksandr Golovin, according to reports.

The 22-year-old will play for Russia at the World Cup, which starts tomorrow with the host nation taking on Saudi Arabia.

The Bianconeri have been increasingly linked with a move for the midfielder, and are believed to have agreed terms with him.

Now SportMediaset is reporting that a deal is also close with CSKA, as Juve are keen to do a deal before the tournament where Golovin’s price could rise.

The two clubs have a basic agreement worth around €20m, so now just need to work out the structure of the deal.
Looks like this could be a done dealio very soon...

3 months ago we were linked with Barella, Pellegrini and Cristante. Is it fair to say that Golovin is better than all of them? Seems like it.

Looks like high IQ player with good technique, can cover few positions, doesn't lack pace at all and already played ton of games for Russian NT and CSKA.

Carrera also said the boy is a real deal.

Exciting signing. Do it, Beppe.

Is the words from Marotta abot Golovin real? Haven't seen Di Marzio or Agresti report about it. Di Marzio quotes from Di Marzio was only about Higuain, Cancelo, etc. Nothing about Golovin, hope it's true beacuse Golovin seems to be a great player.

idk, from yesterday,s video he seemed to avoid questions on him. Then CdS have him quoted saying it's more than a rumour. :boh:

Yeah that's why I wondered. Weird that only CDS has that quot 😁. He seems great, technical player who can ran with ball, reminded me of both Hamsik and Nedved. What a mix haha, he is player type we are lacking. I hope we get him, I asked Agresti and Di Marzio about it on twitter but no reply yet, probably they wont answer 😣

So... has anyone actually seen him play?
He is playing in the russian league - not a league that I follow too much..

Also he is described as "better than Pjanic" which sounds like the way EPL overrate their players.. So I guess he is not as good as Pjanic but is he a player that can start next season or is he just another prospect and thats all?

Sportklub over here covers RPL, but they usually stream Carrera's Spartak, as they're fun to watch.

For what it's worth, my Estonian friend follows RPL and he likes Golovin a lot.

brothers Miranchuk are interesting too, been a while since Russia produced anything worthwhile. at least this squad isn't completely hopeless compared to Euros
