Gilardino fee rocks Milan Wednesday 22 June, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alberto Gilardino’s move to Milan is again in doubt as a result of Parma’s asking price for the striker.

Gialloblu transfer chief Luca Baraldi met with Adriano Galliani this morning, but the latter admitted there was one major problem blocking the swoop.

"Gilardino wants to join Milan and we want him," the Vice-president stated. "But there is some difference between their request and our offer.

"Nothing has been resolved for now. At this moment in time, the figures being mentioned are out of our reach."

Parma are believed to have lowered their initial valuation of £35m to £25m, but that is still seemingly too high for the Rossoneri.

That may now let other clubs join the race, with Chelsea, Real Madrid, Inter and Juventus also keen.

"I don’t think this transfer will be resolved quickly," Baraldi stated. "We had this meeting with Milan today so you can say we have started negotiations.

"But we will now speak to other clubs, who have asked to remain nameless, after making initial enquiries for our player.

"Chelsea? There has been contact on a number of occasions but that is the case with other clubs too."

Gilardino was hoping to have his future resolved by the end of this week, but Baraldi has warned that his transfer could turn into a saga.

"This is a very complicated move because Parma do need to build a new side for next season," he added.

Meanwhile, Milan have reportedly agreed to sell Vikash Dhorasoo to Paris Saint-Germain. PSG will pay £2m and offer the midfielder a two-year contract.

no hope, the deal is signed sealed and delivered. The deal was done a year ago.

Remember the Parma problems last year, they "could" of gone bankrupt or relegated to Serie B foe $$$ problems. Guess who "helped" them? That's right, none other than the President of Italy, Mr. Berlu****isface. Guess what he wanted in return?
Parma In Serie A Thanks To The Italian People's Cash-Bologna Chairman
    6/22/2005 3:32:00 PM
Bologna chairman Giuseppe Gazzoni Frascara had bitter words to say about the club’s relegation to the Italian second division.
“Yes, the pitch said we are in the Serie B, but we played against a team that belongs to all of the Italian people, in the sense that the money Parma spent this year belong to the State,” he said.

“We need to make sure things like this don’t happen in the future. We are here to control and look out for any irregularities,” he added.

Gazzoni has been in ‘vigilantes’ mode since the 2003/2004 season when he began blasting some Serie A clubs, Roma on top, for assembling teams they couldn't afford by breaking the law.

Despite his personal battle for financial rigour in the crazy land of calcio, it is unclear whether Gazzoni and his lawyers will attempt to keep Bologna in the top flight by forcing the league to act upon financial irregularities of other Serie A clubs.

Gilardino unlikely to join Viola Thursday 23 June, 2005

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alberto Gilardino’s agent has played down reports of Fiorentina’s interest in signing the Parma striker.

The Gazzetta dello Sport today claims that the Viola have joined the chase, given Milan’s reluctance to meet Parma’s £25m asking price.

But Beppe Bonetto, talking to the Fiorentina.it website, insists that his client is desperate to wear the Rossoneri shirt.

"I’ve heard about the Viola interest but it is a matter between Fiorentina and Parma," he stated. "We don’t want to get involved.

"It is clear that the club have great plans and (former Parma boss) Cesare Prandelli is more than just a Coach to Alberto, but Milan are Gilardino’s first choice.

"If that move doesn’t happen then anything can occur but I don’t want to comment on a possible transfer to Fiorentina."

Milan and Parma started talks for Gilardino yesterday, but nothing was agreed and that is likely to remain the case for some time.

"Gilardino has now gone on holiday," added Bonetto. "We decided that was the best option as it would be useless just waiting around."

Meanwhile, Fiorentina are believed to have reached an agreement with Parma over goalkeeper Sebastien Frey.

The French shot-stopper is ready to accept a cut in salary in order to complete his move to the Stadio Franchi.

In other transfer news, Albanian striker Erjon Bogdani has returned to Reggina after spending last season at Verona.

look at it this way :
cassano will come.juve have enuff money thru winning the scudetto, the sale of zalayeta and the sponsership deal to sign cassano.

if trez is sold then gila can come.maybe it DOES seem impossible but it looks like this :

    cassanos fee = sposnership deal,zalayeta's sale,scudetto win
    gilardinos fee = trez's sale

maybe..just maybe..both of them cud be at juve.
its too good to be true..
    but u never know.

It's a possibility, altho a very unlikely one.

But, come to think of it, it wouldn't be out of character for Capello to play with 3 up front, Didn't he play Cassano, Totti and Carew at the same time?

Axl, your forgetting that most of the money of the spornsership will go to the construction of the new stadium.

Also, The sale of Zalayeta will not give us much money, and I still have doubts about the scudetto money could be used for transfers, at least not all of it.

One thing is sure, the only way to get Casano its that Roma lower his price... And also Cassano will have to lower his rates.

What you're forgetting is that the sponsorship money needs to be used otherwhere, like for paying players wages, travels, improvement of the stadium, maintanace costs, etc, it's not like those things get payed by themselves and we get 100 million € on top of that.
