We have problems in midfield, but we also have it in the atack-second seasonin row we had a problem with injuries,so one game against Bologna we played with Zalayeta and Olivera(who is not a clasic attacker btw) in atack, while ibrahim was penalized and Trez was injured and Mutu didn't have a right to take a place.
Last season for example, in we played against Depor in second leg 1/8finals of C.L. without injured Trez, Di Vaio and Miccoli, while Zalayeta and Olivera were loaned.
We need standard, real and not addicted to injury attackers.Think that Mutu isn't that kind of player because he was a long time out of pitch, and ibrahim waists to many chances.
Who is our explosive striker available for counter atacks anyway?

I agree that we also need one great reinforcement for midfield.

Di Vaio wasn't bad at all he was our best goal scorer after Trez last season, with 17 goals.
He is good attacker, uses both legs, doing great headers,he's very fast, having great dribbles ,and I think that he really used his chance very good when it appears after Del Piero's injury.
Di Vaio Is Italian after all.
And Gila is much more younger than Di Vaio.I think that Gila is worth every euro which we spend for him.
He wasn't that great in header, even the short Del Piero is almostly equal to him in air...
And yes, he is very fast but he is not a great dribbler cuz he only depend on he is speed without any extra skills....
P.S : don't forget that he used to make more offsides per game than the Great Inzaghi...

He has only few centimeters advantage to Del Piero,he is about 178cm high, and he scored a lot of headers,I can remember some, against inter in coppa, against Parma, against inter again but in the second half of the sesaon and that's all for the last season.Tell me the number of headers which ibrahim did (one) and he is 192cm high.
About the dribbles, you might be right, but anyway he was very potential in the attack.

Di vaio was great but I dont believe he was offsides more than inzaghi? that seems impossible.

The only reason Di Viao didnt do too well in the second half is Lippi and Del piero, simple. Its hard for a player to be benched when he is on form, especially to be benched to somebody who wasnt on form. Di Viao would have been great if we let him.

Anyhow I cant say Gila can be compared to Di Viao, they have such different characteristics and strenghts and I just feel Gila is probably the most suited type of striker for Juve, although I dont think he is absolutely neccessary considering his price and our current strike force, but I do admit he will add a lot to the team if he comes here.

Parma lower Gilardino fee Monday 23 May, 2005

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Parma have suggested that they are ready to lower their £35m asking price for star striker Alberto Gilardino.

Tardini chief Luca Baraldi installed the massive price tag last month but may now be ready to reconsider it after Milan bulked at that figure.

"The best players can make the difference and it is right that clubs should gain an economical advantage for them," he told Sky Italia.

"(Milan chief Adriano) Galliani said he would pull out at that price? I didn’t set a price, I just gave my opinion by comparing him to Adriano."

The Brazilian joined Inter from Parma for a similar fee in January 2004 and Gilardino is set to be the next big name player to quit the Emilia outfit.

"We’ll consider figures at the end of the season," added Baraldi. "Only once serious negotiations start will we get a clear picture of the situation.

"Galliani is a great football official and it is only right that he is saying what he is right now."

The Italian international striker, 22 goals so far this term, is a target for a number of clubs across Italy and Europe.

Milan, Inter and Juventus have been associated in the peninsula, while Chelsea and Real Madrid have also been linked.

to think, Gilardino who has had 2 great seasons is still considered pricey at 35million euros while Zlatan who's made 1 good season was bidded at 70million euros.

I cant see us bidding against Milan without selling somebody BIG.

That price is going to fall to even less than half. Just wait and watch. But i dont know, i still think Id choose Cassano over Giladrino. And Mutu over both of them.

I dont think it'll fall for that long, i think Parma just wants to put the starting bid low so that they can immediately consider offers and see which clubs want him and how much he will actually be sold for.

But I think the price will be around 30 million euros, a little less but not so much as half.

Cassano and Gilardino both have their strenghts and are equal in my eyes, but Juve need Gila more coz we already have Mutu which is more Cassano-like than Gila.
